Optimize problem?

Just finished a clean reinstall of XP on my 2500 Barton, installed all programs I wanted and ran Optimize which repeatedly reports during scan that the recycle bin on drive D is corrupted. Is this a glitch in the program or could I have a problem? Ran chkdsk on all drives, no problem indicated, and system is running fast and smooth except for the Optimize notice on every run.

To check if there is anything out of the ordinary, you can unhide the protected system files and then check the RECYCLER file on drive D and see if it opens, etc.

I do not find any other reports of a simialr issue with Optimize, so it may be a one-of-a-kind problem.

If the issue persists, it would be helpful if you could open a ticket at the help desk and let us get a look at the Optimize logfile:
