Can't Update PC Pitstop Optomize

Recommended Posts

I need a little help here. Every time I try to update my software I get this ---------------------------

PC Pitstop Optimize

---------------------------

Cannot connect to server, please try later.

---------------------------

OK

---------------------------

I have allowed full access through Norton Internet Security Firewall and have also tried turning off the Norton Software. This message returns instantly as though the software doesn't even attempt connection to the server. Where do I go from here? Pls help.

This should be in PC Pitstop's Paid Products, I'll move it over there for you... ;) -kd5-

Check the Norton Firewall settings again.

If your firewall includes HTTP port 80 in its filter list, removing HTTP port 80 from the filter list allows Optimize to update. The "Check for latest version" button uses HTTP port 80 to communicate with the PC Pitstop update server.

The work-around is to check for and update from our Customer Service page:

Turning off port 80 filtering didn't work for me, but I clicked Disable Norton Firewall for 5 minutes and PC-Optimize was able to check OK.
