Hi does it work on Vista yet ? Thanks and enjoy the week.

John

Sorry I missed this last week, but here is a quote from Lavasoft:

Note: Another common question we have been receiving is regarding Vista compatibility; while Ad-Aware 2007 is not currently Vista compatible, a Vista compatible version (32-bit) will be released at the end of August, and all Ad-Aware users with a valid license will immediately receive the Vista compatible version update upon release.

Not very happy with the folks at Lavasoft, When I purchased ad-aware in '02 they sent me an email stating that I had a "life time" license and could get updates forever. Now they have reniged in there agreement and I can't get the '07 ad-aware. These folks are not very reputable in my book so beware cuz what they say and what they do isn't the same

That's interesting, I bought Ad-Aware many years ago but have not used it in a very long time. Maybe I'll dust off my license and see if it still works.

I asked to have the title added, but I don't know the actual criteria for getting it added.

not quite!!

even tho when I purchased AA in april of 02 they show in my accoiunt as it expiring in april of 03 !!

I've gotten all the new versions on my orginal reciept till they came out with 07 and now they seem to think my lifetime license has expired!!

not very reputable for being a trustworthy company

I even sent their support a copy of my orginal reciept from april of 02 and they still denied me

Shame on you LavaSoft !!

Glad I found your post .. I contacted Lavasoft about this very matter and they replied with the following -

"Do you have any receipt or similar from your original purchase, that shows this statement? If so, please send it back to us and we will look into the matter. "

- of course I don't .. just my e-receipt from Element-5 (back in '02). I know that they did promise 'life of product' upgrades back then.. just can't prove it Oh well .. screw them -- there are other fish in the sea I suppose.

yup, and from what I've heard, the '07 version is kinda buggy too, so even if I could get it, I wouldn't install it anyway. I deleted AA 1.0.6 from my pc and I'm not looking back....there's a few other good antispy progs out there and it won't hurt my feelings not to have it, nor will I recommend it to any of my clients either. Bad for them, not me

The folks at lavasoft know damn well what they said back in '02 and it's quite illresponsible for their actions today

I installed the other day on a clean install of XP Home. The Update Manager keeps freezing. :pullhair:
