My Daughters New Comp!

Recommended Posts

Just finished building this system 2 day's ago. It's not a SHOHO. Put it in a CoolerMaster Cavalier case. MSI mobo, with one XFX 7600GT Fatlity, (only one PCI-E x 16 or mobo anyway) an Xclio 500 watt dual +12 rails, 2gb A-Data Vietesta ddr 400, and 2 WD 80 gb sata drives in raid 0. She won't be overclocking it anyway!

Seems Like a very solid stable system! The first MSI board I ever purchased!

I think she will like it. I wish when I was 15 somone would have made one for me LOL.

You make me look bad :geezer: I have 2 sons (10&11) and I wouldn't even put them a couple of old slot 1 CPU's together for simple internet stuff. Here you are putting a 4000+ in yours. Now, I will have to make them the comps they want. Maybe I can upgrade our systems (my wife's and mine) and give the kids the Opty165 and X2 3800+ we have in ours...hehe. Sounds like a good excuse to upgrade early to me!

Why would you not want to run that slot 1 procie? It's a computer, but it can only run a game of solitaire and minesweeper . Seriously you can put Windows ME or even Win2000 (upgrade that crap first lol) and you have a PC for typing stuff

I only have a wolly old lappy :P:(

My parents won't buy me anything for my comp. I'm an upgrade addict though.

:spam: 386's with 512Mb HD's and 4Mb of RAM with Win95 for all! :cr@sh:

Or we could seriously upgrade to P-90's with 1Gb HD's and 16Mb of RAM with 98SE! :spam:

Win95 need at least 16mb of ram.

Win98 needs at least 32n of ram (although 16mb is the minimum, i tested with only 16mb of ram and it's like molases)

good choice going with the amd 64, prices have dropped dramatically!

Yes prices are real low now! It's a great system for her and was much less to build than an Intel system

Intel's prices are dropping like a rock as well. I'm really loving this competition, it actually makes stuff affordable to me.

:filtered:, i wish my parents were as nice to me when i was younger..

My first system..

Celeron 2.0

384 MB of Ram

40GB HD

Intergrated graphics.

I had put a pci graphics card (a year and a half in), in and upgraded to 1.25 GB of ram.

The best it ever scored on the pittest for a 997.
