Black Hole Detection & Max Connections

I use Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal edition to optimize my computer as well as this. I found that the black hole detection and max. connections settings are changed when I run each of these programs. You enable the black hole detection and only set the max. connections for both to 6 while Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal leaves the black hole setting alone but increases the max. connections to 10 each respectively. I read on Microsoft's web site that enabling the black hole detection could cause performance degradation. I found this to be the case in my situation. Is there a way to "ignore" these changes when I use your software?
