PitStop Compared to System Mechanic

Recommended Posts

I have both Pc Pitstop Optimize 1.5 and System Mechanic 7.

They both do nearly the same things. I know System Mechanic is a bit of a system hogger, but it has more feature/options.

Which is best or are they completely different?

I'm not familiar with System Mechanic

Optimize is strictly a performance program.

Here's is what Optimize does: http://www.pcpitstop.com/faq/optimize.asp

Although Optimize has a registry cleaner, it only targets the specific keys named in the FAQ's as those are the ones that most often affect performance. Standard registry cleaners will find many more errors, but they may have no impact at all on the computer's speed.

I believe System Mechanic also has a defragger and an anti-spyware component, but at a price that is 66% higher than Optimize.

Of course I am biased, but I always perfer the smaller, quicker application, which in this case is Optimize, in my opinion.
