Invalid Installed Programs

Hi There,

PC Pitstop Optimizer advertises its ability to remove "Invalid Installed Programs" from my machine, but these programs (i.e. IOmega Hotburn, and AOL Toolbar) still appear on my "Add/Remove Programs" list. These programs are uninstalled or an error occurs when trying to uninstall them. There is no way for me to get rid of these programs on the list. Can anyone help.

Optimize actually removes the registry entries for several invalid items left over after uninstalling programs. It doesn't remove the programs themselves. This is unrelated to the Add/Remove programs list.

There is more detail here: http://www.pcpitstop.com/faq/optimize.asp

I'm assuming you are not running Windows XP, as it will offer to delete any invalid entires in the Add/Remove list once you try to use them.

There are different ways of doing what you want with other versions of Wondows.

What version of Windows are you using?
