How do you get your music?

Recommended Posts

I buy CD's, then rip them to my hard drive. Have never had any problems with restricted CD's. I could rip every CD I have ever purchased in my OS of choice.

Never paid for an mp3 and probably never will. I much prefer having the CD.

Now have more the 50 gigs of music on my hard drive

Whenever I buy a CD, then the first thing I do is to rip it to MP3. Many times, I don't even listen to the CD in regular format, only in MP3. Then I found allofmp3 and started using that.

I just got a new car with an MP3 player, and it is like having a 15 CD changer. I really like it so much. I also made a DVD of MP3's and put it in my DVD player. That's like having a 100 CD changer.

I have been using the Linksys WMA 11-B, to listen to my entire collection on my stereo, but the product has a ton of issues. I bought the Dlink product, but it has more issues than the WMA 11-B.

My computer has become my main music delivery system. I buy music from iTunes, then burn a cd to play in the truck(I also just hook up theiPod). I rip the cd's I already have.

Ways I usually acquire music, from most often to least often:

bittorrent, limewire, itunes music store, buying the actual cd in a store.

Hey, did i say I was acquiring music illegally?

People can share their own music that they make on networks like that and let tons of people listen to it, especially with bittorrent.

Just because I use bittorrent and limewire doesn't mean I'm stealing music. Some artists allow people to do this.

i don't buy cds. to pricey to get the one song you want.

soooo, i go to the library, rent the cd i want, and rip it to hdd.

picked up nearly 9 gigs that way, though i want to delete it all since i riped at a low bit rate and they mostly sound like total crap now

Ares Galaxy & BitTorrent for me. I don't buy CDs, and I really don't listen to music anymore. The 189 songs I have on my ipod are from the 5 or so CDs I actually own.

Good bands release albums where each song (not just the singles) are worth paying for.

i dont get music on my hard drive or media, i listen to high bandwidth online radio, its much better than mp3 music, in fact pending on the station its as good as a cd, the quality can be 350 kbps, thats excellent sound coming from internet radio :)
