ok no more laughing, this is an everyday ordeal for many, a percentige of those that surf the net dont even know what there up against, i would suggest everyone thats surfs to take the time and read about improving there overal system security, virus applications dont always help and if they do they leave a system in ruins!

The intent of the video was to scare people into using SiteAdviser because there are still a lot of nasty sites out there. That said, we are finding that spyware and malware are decreasing. I am not much of a YouTube kind of guy, but it seems like a younger crowd that would be less susceptible to these scare tactics.

I agree that the amount of spyware nasty stuff is decreasing in volume of applications out there, but I believe it's more harder to remove than ever before, and way more malicious than just what gator did in it's heyday

lolz, I had a crap of a comp I left hooked up to the internet and I forgot about it. It sat for like 3 years and it had almost everything displayed in that movie :P (plus porn infeststations  )

Never had a similar experience since then, and I don't have a social life outside of my comp, lol. Forum ADDICT.

Well, the video might be cool and scare people, but I and several others went there with our VMs and got nothing like what the video shows. Heh, a few even got a fart button to play with.....wonder how many said they didn't click it, but really did?

Since it is much harder to sneak software onto our PC's, the spyware and malware makers must make their payloads much bigger. If you look at our top 20 list, the pop up advertising spyware is pretty much gone. 2 years ago, that was all there was. Now we got search hi jackers, and true malware. They don't show up on the top 20, but the smaller guys are trying to do mail bots and other things to make money.
