shogan191
Yep, that's correct on the number of upgrade pitstops you can make. Maxst if you mess up again and have to reinstall go with raid0. We'll give you instructions if/when the time comes.

IntelGuy
1 entry and thats it O_o That means you can enter one computer. You get two "pitstops" (upgrades) and can always enter a better score to replace the previous one.

angelictorment
Where are we entering the scores and such. I think I'm gonna get started on mine tonight if its cool enough in this house too. I know I can get her up to 3.8Ghz but I want to push for 4.2Ghz (that'd be a 100% OC for me ) Edit: Don't mind me, I've been sick and over look things quite easily. But I found my answer. :Edit: Edited November 29, 2006 by angelictorment

IntelGuy
The Pitcops or Pit crew will review each Tech Express link to make sure there are no glitches and that the test was run within the parameters that are specifed in the rules, and then approve the score for inclusion in the scoreboard. Maxst2
I kinda have something to say about this contest... Simply put... person with the most money can win the 8800. Mean a stock top end.. or even mid range computer could easily beat what i have maxxed out on air. Id hate to make your guys work in the contest become much more significant...but thats a big piece of equipment. It might escape me how your judging this. Mean air vs water yeild faaar different results right? Almost think that score AND how much change in the system has been made compared to stock setup- like cpu, ram, and vid... in BOTH air and liquid cooled setups. Hell temps should play a part I dunno... just wondering how you guys did this. Mean for me... i cant afford the latest and greatest... so how could i ever have a chance to get something that is? See what im trying to get to... i never was great at saying things.
tarawa
Actually I sorta agree. It's one reason why I like the latest TRP challenge. I was thinking yesterday about cats like Highest overclock % Highest score w/single core and dual core Things like that. In my case I was gonna get that stuff regardless. Been saving my pennies. IntelGuy
You make a valid point. As in all things, whether it's the World Series, Nascar, Olympics, etc whoever throws the most money at it enhances their chances of winning significantly. I am certainly free to enter the Boston Marathon, but if I do not have the resources (money) to train to my maximum potential, it would not be a reasonable expectation that I would win the event. (Even if I could train every day for a year that would not be a reasonable expectation. ) In my opinion the prizes that are up for the two drawings are no slouches. I would be quite happy with either one. The 680i motherboard is defintely the latest and greatest. And all that's required to be eligible for the drawings is to post a valid Tech Express link. No overclocking, no upgrading, no high-end parts. Just the ability to run a Pit test. Additionally, those who are entering for the drawing prizes actually have two chances to win, whereas there will only be one shot at being Top Dawg. It is our intention to attract some of the latest and greatest hardware to participate in the event, and to that end the 8800GTS is the incentive. (There is a CPU score contest on the drawing board for early next year that will have nine categories with a first, second, and third prize winner in each category, but overclocking will definitely be required to have a shot at the prizes.) Maxst2
Oh yeah not saying thats what is up for grabs thru drawing is bottom of the barrel... Just that the BIG prize is only limited to those who can drop the bucks. What you say is very true though. I was just pondering how it was all judged in all Seeing if i can get the lil guys a chance to win the grand prize
flewpastu
the latest and greatest aint always going to be the deciding factor .... for example the 8800GTX is an awsome state of the art 3d graphics card or in other words latest and greatest however they dont seem to score all that well in the PIT being the PIT is mainly a 2D test and yet rip anything apart in a 3D bench so figurativley speaking a single Non SLI 7600gt can do very well in here as opposed to 1 or 2 8800gtX's besides its all about having a good time and seeing how you compare to others or how high you can get your score these are all Excellent prizes and wish the best of luck to all that enter again you dont have to OC just post a valid score and you have a chance to win if thats not worth it to you then please feel free to watch more chances for the rest of us
