Graphics Card Advice Needed

i have yes i plugged in everything as far as i can see

Have you pluged a molex connector from the psu into the card:

yes like the fan powers up and everything but theres no display on the monitor

hmm is it seated properly? make sure it pushed in all the way.

yep it is and i even tried to hold it in firmly while turning on the computer but still no display

what card were you using before this? was it onboard?

this is my first comp, there was no other card and i have no onboards graphics

So you get nothing at all on the monitor not even a "No signal" message?

wel ive never got a no signal message like if i turn on the monitor without a nything plugged into the vga, it just says "Packard Bell" and then that disappears its just like that

You could try booting to safe mode try hitting F8, and if that works try lowering the refesh rate. also did you get a DVI to CRT adapter?

not to sure it might load the windows drivers if its a driver issue, its a long shot tho. what is your monitor is it a TFT are CRT?

did you get an adapter?

ok is the AGP bus speed set to 8x in the bios?

i dont know but i know that in the mobo manual it says its agpx8 so i presume it is
