Help: Optimize Install disabled wireless network

Recommended Posts

I installed Optimize and it knocked out my wireless G network connection.

I tried to reverse it, to no avail.

I uninstalled Optimize, still no luck.

I removed and then reinstalled the Intel PROSet/Wireless 2915ABG drivers, no luck.

The router is a D-Link DI-624 Wireless G Router and I am using WPA security authentication.

Intel PROSet/Wireless Software 10.1.1.3 can see the network, but I cannot connect to it. I verified the properties and everything is set right with the correct WPA key.

I tried a Windows System RESTORE to a date before the install of Optimize with no luck.

HELP

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

I searched and was unable to come up with a similar issue for a precedent.

You have aleady done everything I would have suggested. A Windows System Restore to a date prior to installing Optimize would have completely reverted every change that Optimize made to your computer.

To my way of thinking, that leaves the router. Have you tried checking the router configuration or rebooting (the router)?

Also, if you purchased Optimize from PC Pitstop, you can request a refund at our Customer Service page:

http://www.pcpitstop.com/store/service.asp

If you bought from CA, you would want to go here:

And if all else fails: http://support.dlink.com/

Thanks for the fast response !!!!

I had checked the router configuration and verified all settings as documented (I keep a hardcopy of all settings).

I rebooted the router and it worked.

I was at the point of re-installing XP or something even more drastic, so you saved me big time.

After 5 hours of troubleshooting, I will not take the chance to install Optimize again and will opt for refund.

Thanks again!!!
