Power Management stopped working - fan runs continuously

Recommended Posts

Guest Darryl Gittins

After I ran Optimize on my Toshiba Satallite laptop, something went wrong with my Power Management stopped, and the cooling fan runs almost continuously, as if the computer now runs much hotter. I ran the Optimize restore and the problem was solved.

Anyone have any ideas?

THANKS!!

Sounds like there's either a registry entry being removed, or something from the power management app got installed in a temporary folder. Since restore fixed it, I'd say a registry entry is more likely. Were you in an administrator account when you ran Optimize and the problem began?

In order for us to better analyze what went wrong, can you please email us, as an attachment, the logfile found at My Computer>C:\>Program Files>PC Pitstop>Optimize>optimize_log.txt?

If you decide to send the log, please contact us through the help desk and we'll give you an email address to send it to. http://pcpitstop.com/store/service.asp

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
