Keeps crashing at "Sending Results"

Recommended Posts

I have been a PC Pitstop User for many years and have never had an issue. Recently I setup Vonage phone system and now my internet speed is dead slow, (should be 3mbps down, is now 1mbps on a good day) AND I cannot run PCPitstop tests any more. the keep crashing, usually at the saving results page.

I am very concerned about the extreme loss of speed in my cable modem than anything.

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

I a running a AMD Athalon 180, 512mb memory, WIN XP SP2, all is up tp date.

Here are the latest successful results i sent to TechExpress:

What specific page are you on when the crash occurs? Is it a crash, with a dialog that says IE has terminated? If so, what do the crash details say?

http://www.pcpitstop.com/faq/tests.asp#crash

I am on the following page:

http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/SaveResults1.asp

It stops and the screen now says:

"This page cannot be displayed"

That isn't a crash, it sounds like a DNS problem or other issue.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page. What does it say?

You have quite a few add-ins, bhos, and other security software running. Was any of that added since the last time you were able to run the tests? Or, did you reconfigure your security or update versions since that time?

Microsoft doesn't make a product named spy sweeper. Do you mean Microsoft Windows Defender (beta)? Have you tried disabling it temporarily to see if it fixes the problem?

 I have been able to fix the issue! The cable co finally came out to look and found that A: my modem was fried and B: the main line on my street is fried!

They replaced the modem and will fix the main line outside today sometime. I am now able to complete my tests and do not get booted.

I think it must have been a speed issue!! my modem wasn't able to keep up with the signal demands from the test process.

I want to thank all who gave me advice and help. it certainly died help to clean my PC and adjust some settings. :)

The people on these forums are the BEST!!
