Control Panel on the Quick Launch Bar

Recommended Posts

This is one of my favorites, and one of the first I do on a fresh install of Windows. What this does is add the Control Panel to your Quick Launch bar. What you do is go to,

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

and create a new folder and give it the following name,

Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}.

Then to get it to work you just need to make sure you have the little arrow for extra items on the Quick Launch bar and you will have one click access to everything in the Control Panel.

Hmm, i gave it that name and it shows but it has all those excess characters in the name, it's just a lil annoying.

Nevermind, I figured it out. I just had "hide protected system operating files (recommended)" unchecked in the Folder Options.
