A good place to start is...

Budget.

What kind of money are you looking to spend? Another good question is, "what type of experience are you looking for," as in, do you want the ultra-high quality graphics or is just "high" or "medium" settings okay for you?

Oh I almost forgot, I want to hook this up to a 52" big screen tv. (momma got a plasma tv for her birthday so I get the old one to play with)

A 52 inch tv wont work to well for a pc. If i did im sure you would go blind.

i've personally played fps games on a big screen tv and it's AMAZING. granted you couldn't read text worth CRAP but the video and gaming just rocked.

i was also sitting back about 10-12 feet w/ a wireless combo on a tv tray.

Here's what I got out of the box and then added the stuff you see in my sig. Also have a 19" sony LCD and that, with everything else, might put you over budget unless you plan on using the widescreen TV as the main display. :D

Mine didn't look very good on my 42" widescreen and that was with a VGA connection. :pullhair:
