a drive

can anyone tell me why since loading xp my (A)drive is acting up it will read but wont write the error code is(THE DRIVE IS NOT READY FOR USE ITS DOOR MAY BE OPEN PLEASE CHECK DRIVE AANDMAKE SURE DISK IS INSERTED AND THE DRIVE DOOR IS CLOSED)

but there arent any door's on a floppy drive :blink:

 

double click my computer and post back with a discription on the drives that are in there.

It is likely either the floppy drive or the disk is broken. Make sure the disk is inserted fully and correctly and try another couple of disks. Floppy drives are very outdated now and should really not be used any longer.

floppy (a:) cd drive (D:) cd drive (E:)

 

i know there are no doors but this is the exact error message
