dawid;

Thank you very much. I also ran my WINTASKPro and "blocked" 3 different lucallbackproxy applications.

..Everything seems to be back to normal now...

TNX again.

It's possible that you have an infected file that "System Restore" has saved. These files are often not accessible by virus scans.

Turn off "System Restore", then do another scan. Then turn

"Sys-Restore" on again.

Good Luck

:sparkle:If this version of LuCallBackProxy is part of a Norton's program there maybe settings for the start up folder that need to be changed or corrected.

To ensure your software is correct run the automated support assistant.....and follow the prompts.

Let Symantec Solve Your Technical Problems

**I have Nortons....and when I use the liveupdate feature it uses more then one LuCallBackProxy to run and scan for updates. :sparkle:

I've run Technical Support Assistnat several times---and it sez everything is just hunky dory. No problem with Systemworks..No problem with Antivirus.....

So I dunno.... :help:

:sparkle:I think it's time to run PcPitStop full test and post your results.

It's possible there are some items loading at start up that could be disabled ,...or your low on resources.

Intructions for the TechExpress Help...are located at the top of this web page.

:sparkle:Shipper your link didnt work.....you may want to try that again.

To make sure your nortons is running correct.....Open the program and click on the liveupdate button....

Let it run and see if there are any definitions you dont have.....

I think there is a setting thats not correct.....And it's in your startup programs list...

Necessary startup items for Norton AntiVirus :sparkle:

:sparkle:I think if you disable a couple of things from your start ups list this may stop the alerts.

Read this page about information how to disable through msconfig.

How To Disable Programs

Here are the items listed in your test results

C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYMANTEC SHARED\SYMTRAY.EXE SystemWorks tray icon

C:\PROGRAM FILES\NIKON\NKVIEW6\NKVMON.EXE Nikon CoolPix Monitor

C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT MONEY\SYSTEM\REMINDER.EXE

C:\PROGRAM FILES\STAY CONNECTED!\STAYCON.EXE

C:\PROGRAM FILES\SYMANTEC\LIVEUPDATE\LUCALLBACKPROXY.EXE

C:\PROGRAM FILES\SYMANTEC\LIVEUPDATE\LUCOMSERVER_3_0.EXE

Also.....Delete unneeded files and defragment your disk

Also read this page from your test result..

Okay.. I had problems with the computer rebooting but never knew what it was then when I opened the task manager on my computer it showed a few names such as LuCallbackproxy. When LuCallBackProxy is on the list, the number of processes goes up past 40 and goes up to 48!! It takes a few minutes for the proxy to go away and the pocesses go down..

I did a search of it on my computer and I found two..

One is in Windows Prefetch... LUCALLBACKPROXY.EXE-19ED7806.pf Date modified 6/23/2006...

Second one is... LuCallbackProxy and it is in program files/Symantec/Live... It was modified 2/23/2006.

What if I delete those two?

I have done adaware, CWShredder, CCleaner and even Norton virus scan and the files are still there..

Any ideas?
