video card for desktop/ and mem for laptop

this is the video card i was thinking of geting for the desktop http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102492. and im geting a dell 9300 with the 6800 go and intel 1,73m and i had too go with 512mb ram because of my dads 1500$ from dell limit. so he told me get 1gb ram off newegg. i was looking will this work in it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820144183. im going too keep 1 256mb ram in the laptop too so i have 1.25gbs.

well the problem why i went with the video card is my motherboard is agp ony dfi 250gb ut and i realy dont feel like going with a new motherboard and stuff because i realy like this motherboard and i whould have too upgrade the cpu too and i cant do that because with everything its costing pretty much.

Sorry, didn't notice that, I'm a little off form at the moment :lol:

If you want to save a little more money you could go for an X800GT0, as people seem to be having great success unlocking them to the full number of pipes/ clock speed.

Best Buy in the US has the X850 Pro for $280, it would be a much better card then the X800. I was lucky enough to be able to pick up an x850xt for $280 CDN today, regular price is $600 CDN, so I am pretty happy. The x850xt just flys also, it can pretty much run any game smoothly on the highest settings.

i just looked the x850pro up and it says it ony has 12piplines? http://shopati.ca/product.asp?sku=2699206

the x800xt has 16piplines whouldint the x800xt be better?

The X850pro (if you get lucky) can be modded to have the full 16 pipes unlocked, and it runs at higher speeds than the X800XT.

what modded you meen? by a driver or software? or hardware stuff?

 

I believe by software but not sure ... you will have to ask one of the guys with an ATI

 

also im glad that you didnt mean to double post . . . i thought u might have been going crazy or something on us :pullhair:
