I need help determining the best RWIN or receive buffer settings on a desk top(350Mhz, Win 98) and a notebook(1Ghz, Win XP) computer. My ADSL service is ratd at 1500/128. I have tried to compute it and have used some internet programs like that from PC Pitstop. I have set both at 32120 but I am not sure about the performance. Some tweak tests say that this number as well as 16060 is in the good range!

What's wrong with our Autofix? It's simple, and it sets the only parameter (rwin) that matters for 90 percent of the systems.

Also, there is no such thing as the "optimal" rwin size for all sites. The best rwin for a site depends on the round-trip ping time, throughput, and packet losses.
