  1. here's the problem i'm trying to solve: i have a system with an radeon 6870 that uses two monitors. each of those two monitors connect to the separate dvi ports on the video card. i also have a 32" lcd tv connected to the video card via hdmi. i can, in windows 7, swtich back and forth in video modes (windows key + p) and have either 1 of my dvi monitors and the tv, just the tv, or both of the dvi monitors. i would like my display to simply span all three monitors. windows display settings won't allow me to do it. it shows all three, but if i choose to span to more than 2 it simply won't let me save it. next i try to use the the vision engine control center to set up an eyefinity group, but it won't allow me to use the hdmi device in the group even though it clearly detects it (see screencap). anyway...anyone here familiar with this kind of setup with any suggestions?
