  1. In my emails detailing the final results of the scan, data fragmentation was always drastically reduced. Recently, data fragmentation (both data and total) remains the same and isn't reduced. Why isn't it reducing it and how can I fix it?
  2. Yesterday morning, my wife sat down at her desk and saw nothing but a bad image error window for an application. Computer had apparently rebooted overnight and in trying to x/close the window, wouldn't allow this, had to click on OK and that just presented a similar window for a different program - this happened over and over again, many times, apparently for every program that was trying to launch on startup. Searched and searched on another PC for what this might be - was finally able to run AVG which found something (I can't recall what) but indicated it couldn't be repaired/healed. Ended up trying multiple things throughout the day - ran Vipre according to those instructions in Safe Mode, ran SFS Scannow, Malwarebytes, AVG - all multiple times and in Safe Mode. Nothing (at least no threats related to fixing this problem) turned up. Found a post at this website/forum last night that referred to Combofix, but everything I see on this particular tool indicates that it isn't wise to use without expert assistance. This problem is like no other I've experienced, crippling. Help would be very much appreciated! A bit more info - almost every single error indicated the program was "either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support". I believe above this the window showed the program (program.exe) - Bad Image and the path C:\progra~1\movies~1 (example)\datamngr.dll. There was one instance noted that said: IAStorIcon.exe - Application Error Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process ID = 0X514 (1300), Thread ID = 0Xbf4 (3060) Click OK to terminate the application. Click CANCEL to debug the application.

  5. I've been looking around for solutions to this problem that cropped up and I can't really find one that could fix it. Basically, from the moment my pc actually starts up I keep getting Bad image messages with "Application or DLL *** .dll not valid Windows image. Check against installation diskette." It's the same thing for all programs and I'm not sure if it's a common or a simple thing but I don't know of a way to fix it. One of the reasons why I'm not having an easy time fixing it is because I know very little about computers so I'm sure you'll have just as a hard time helping me fix it. I really hope this can be fixed easily because I can't really afford to go and have it fixed by a professional.
  6. Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I have been trying to connect my windows 2000 computer to the internet wirepessly, but a problem appeared. I have a network adapter , and I found a guide online on how to connect it, here it is: http://www.uwplatt.edu/oit/howto/setupwireless-win2k.html The problem is, that my advanced tab appears to be different. Here is my advanced tab (uploaded image): http://s15.postimg.org/3r7z2kwnv/untitled.png there is no SSID etc any Ideas on what I can do?
  7. Hi! Help! I have a Dell Windows XP computer and recently I keep receiving a DLL bad image error message for just about every program on my computer which says something like "The application or DLL name.DLL is not a valid windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette." I've run AVG and no threats appear. I did a full Malwarebytes scan and although it did remove some malware, it didn't fix the problem. I also tried to do a system restore but that didn't fix it either. I'm thinking about trying to do a clean install reinstallation of Windows but I know this is a long process and I'm wondering if there's a faster, better way to get rid of the infection. Any help will be so very greatly appreciated!! I never know what to do with computers when these things happen. Thanks! Kate
  8. I was using my laptop last night and it randomly had a blue screen error and then shut down. After that I've tried to boot my laptop but it wouldn't load, it kept asking to either launch startup recovery or start windows normally. When I choose to start normally it stays on a black screen. When I choose to Launch Startup Recovery it brings up the "Windows is loading files..." Screen but stop after the loading bar fills twice and then restarts. I then tried pressing F8 at the BIOS screen and chose to boot in safe mode and then tried booting with Last Known Good Configuration, Both having the same result as the normal boot. After all of that had failed I tried loading different other hard drives, USB drives and CDs that I use for booting different systems, here were my results.*Note: Before this problem occurred all Drives below worked with no issues on the laptop. (Drive 1 is my Default Drive)Drive 1: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit 320GB - Issues explained aboveDrive 2: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit 320GB - Error 0xc000428, Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.Drive 3: Windows 8 Professional 32-Bit 120GB - Error 0xc000428, Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.USB 1: Windows 7 Home Premium Installation Disk - Error 0xc000428, Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.USB 2: Linux Lucid Puppy: Startup screen shows then randomly restarts when system attempts to boot.CD 1: Windows Vista Home Premium Installation Disk - Error 0xc000428, Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.CD 2: Linux Ubuntu Studio 11.10: Startup screen shows then randomly restarts when system attempts to boot.*I also tried all of these drives in an older Toshiba Laptop normally running Windows Vista Home Premium and all Drives worked correctly.I'm not sure why my Laptop refuses to boot anything. Here's the info on my Laptop.-Dell Inspiron 1520-BIOS Version A03-Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.00 GHz-4GB RAM-Windows 7 Ultimate 320GB HDD-NVidia 8600 GraphicsPlease help me fix this issue, most issues I can usually fix on my own but this one has me very confused. I've already tried Microsoft's forums but the answer they gave had nothing to do with what I explained above.
  9. Good day, recently I have started to get Bad Image errors when opening certain programs like iTunes. I have tried everything from a chkdsk to an sfc /scannow. Neither of those worked. I have done a full system scan with bitdefender, spybot search and destroy along with malware bytes. The only thing I have not tried yet is a system restore and that is because it does not work. When I restore to a point it comes up with an error that states that system restore did not complete successfully windows 7 failed to extract a file. Now the only restore points available are not far enough back, it only shows restore points for today. I would need it to restore atleast 2 days back. Please aid me in figuring out what is wrong with my computer. Due to the vast amount of programs that I have on my laptop a windows 7 reinstall would take too long to install the programs back. Please let me know if there is an easier way to fix this problem. 10. After running PCMatic and letting it fix things automatically, I am having issues with my contact list in email. Prior to running this, when I emailed someone, I merely had to type the first letter of the person in the TO section and a dropdown list would appear. Now it doesnt do that. At All. If I try to get the address from my contact list, I get an error message: Something unexpected just happened. Please contact att.net Customer Care if the problem persists. Error code: -99999 And, No, I have not contacted ATT yet because it is a PITA to even find a contact number or email to reach them. AND I know when I tell them it was ok before running PCMatic, they are going to do that sucking of the teeth 'tsk, tsk' thing and tell me I shouldnt have run it, which will just made me more annoyed. I figured I would start with the culprit that caused the problem first. And that would be PCMatic. It is annoying me not to be able to get that drop down list for email. I have never seen this error or had a problem prior to running pcmatic. please tell me how to fix it abbeytoo
  11. Hey, having a problem loading my pcmatic program when I launch it I get this same error everytime I have reinstalled and such. Check it out http://tinypic.com/r/2a6uon9/5
  12. Hey everyone, I need help with my HP Pavilion Slimline s3100n. I received the STOP: 0x000000F4 when I was in the BIOS (on accident) and set it to default settings. I bought this computer on ebay so don't have the disc for Windows Vista. I get the STOP Error every time I try to turn the computer on. I tried everything I could think of (safe mode/system restore/ect...) but I always get the the blue screen with the STOP: 0x000000F4. My friend thinks that it might have something to do with the boot settings. If someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dare92
