  1. Yesterday morning, my wife sat down at her desk and saw nothing but a bad image error window for an application. Computer had apparently rebooted overnight and in trying to x/close the window, wouldn't allow this, had to click on OK and that just presented a similar window for a different program - this happened over and over again, many times, apparently for every program that was trying to launch on startup. Searched and searched on another PC for what this might be - was finally able to run AVG which found something (I can't recall what) but indicated it couldn't be repaired/healed. Ende
  2. I've been looking around for solutions to this problem that cropped up and I can't really find one that could fix it. Basically, from the moment my pc actually starts up I keep getting Bad image messages with "Application or DLL *** .dll not valid Windows image. Check against installation diskette." It's the same thing for all programs and I'm not sure if it's a common or a simple thing but I don't know of a way to fix it. One of the reasons why I'm not having an easy time fixing it is because I know very little about computers so I'm sure you'll have just as a hard time helping me fix i
  3. Hi! Help! I have a Dell Windows XP computer and recently I keep receiving a DLL bad image error message for just about every program on my computer which says something like "The application or DLL name.DLL is not a valid windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette." I've run AVG and no threats appear. I did a full Malwarebytes scan and although it did remove some malware, it didn't fix the problem. I also tried to do a system restore but that didn't fix it either. I'm thinking about trying to do a clean install reinstallation of Windows but I know this is a lo
  4. Good day, recently I have started to get Bad Image errors when opening certain programs like iTunes. I have tried everything from a chkdsk to an sfc /scannow. Neither of those worked. I have done a full system scan with bitdefender, spybot search and destroy along with malware bytes. The only thing I have not tried yet is a system restore and that is because it does not work. When I restore to a point it comes up with an error that states that system restore did not complete successfully windows 7 failed to extract a file. Now the only restore points available are not far enough back, it
  5. Hello, I dislike the lack of ability to choose a page to substitute the "New Tab" page in Chrome, and I prefer avoiding third party software and the complications that come with it when possible, so I thought that the best solution would be editing chrome.dll to force the behaviour. However, I have limited knowledge of C (That is what this language is, right?), so I would greatly appreciate some help from someone more knowledgable. I have version 21.0.1180.89, and I think that I found the new tab resource by searching chrome.dll in Resource Hacker for "If we wanted to maintain position
