New board, new core, new RAM ...
EclipseWebJS2 posted a topic in Custom PCs, case mods, overclocking
Some new parts were ordered for my sick computer the other day, so now I need to get people's opinion on each one of these parts. I ordered an ASRock motherboard which comes with a free 8GB memory kit to start. Then I ordered one of those AMD Trinity APUs to go on my board. But now it seems like I need to get a new hard drive. My Seagate Barracuda 1.0 TB volume ran into errors before I shut that one down and started playing around with this Windows 8 lappy. -
I just purchased this laptop for my son because the price was sweet! I build my own tower, but sorry I can only upgrade and re[pair lappy's. but for $449.00 I believe it was a bargain new.! BTW I build both AMD and Intel systems, prefer Intel, but AMD is also a good chose price wise! http://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?conid=25293076&report=Summary

here's the problem i'm trying to solve: i have a system with an radeon 6870 that uses two monitors. each of those two monitors connect to the separate dvi ports on the video card. i also have a 32" lcd tv connected to the video card via hdmi. i can, in windows 7, swtich back and forth in video modes (windows key + p) and have either 1 of my dvi monitors and the tv, just the tv, or both of the dvi monitors. i would like my display to simply span all three monitors. windows display settings won't allow me to do it. it shows all three, but if i choose to span to more than 2 it simply won't let me save it. next i try to use the the vision engine control center to set up an eyefinity group, but it won't allow me to use the hdmi device in the group even though it clearly detects it (see screencap). anyway...anyone here familiar with this kind of setup with any suggestions?

Can you give me your views on this bundle- http://www.ebuyer.co...1100t-m5a97-8gb I already have a good Corsair 650 watt power supply and will be recycling my old case, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. Primarily to be used as a workstation, multi-tasking but with some gaming in mind. As time goes on, and budget allows I intend at least doubling the RAM and upgrading PSU to 1000 watts. Also, advice for a graphics card? I live in the U.K. so the $ cost would be around $429. Thanks for reading.
