Yes, that's right. Last night, I reset my Windows 7, Home Premium, 64 back to Factory settings. I had it runnng, just like now. For close to 3 and a half hours, searching for updates ( which I know, of course it has. ) Now today, it's been over 5 hours, but is still just searching for updates. Hasn't downloaded any or even installed any.
I did this last year, at nearly the same time of year. And so I know from that time, it takes a while to find the years ( 4 or more since Windows 7 came out ) worth of updates ans to download and install. But it never took this long, just searching and not finding any updates before. It took me 7 or 8 hours to do the full reinstall, with all updates downloaded and installed too. Yet here I am, already over 5 hours in. And it still hasn't even found all the updates.
I had a few problems with the system I had before this, searching for updates too. But this is a totally redone system, so why would that same problem be happening now? Any ideas would be very helpful here.
