  1. If you are annoyed by the clicking or "ticking" sound everytime you select things in the Windows Explorer file manager, eliminate it by going to Start in the search box and type "mmsys.cpl" without quotes. Then click Sounds tab. In the middle of the window, in the Program list, click Start Navigation. In the drop-down Sounds list, you’ll see "Windows Navigation Start.wav" which you can change by clicking the drop-down arrow and selecting None. Click OK it's done!
