  1. I have an adware/ransom ware problem with my computer...... 1. When I lite off my browser (Fire Fox), after a short time, I get a warning message saying "Warning, if you are seeing this message your computer may be infected with a virus ........ Call this 800 number ......". The warnings will allow me to exit out of them ..... but they return in a few minuets. 2. In my browsing I have many pop up ads, these ads appear that they are part of the web site I am visiting. They are not. These ads and the warning message above have a message in a light type in one of the corners saying "Ads by SaveLott". Here is a list of things I have done to solve the problem: 1. I purchased PCMatic, I made several scans and it did not remove the problem. 2. I went to uninstall program section in the control panel. I removed unknown programs after a date which I know to be good. 3. I have done a registry edit for "savelott" and deleted all occurrences of it. 4. I have found a directory in the C:\program files (86)\SaveLotts and deleted it. MY COMPUTER IS STILL IN TROUBLE!!!! Now my C:\program files (86) has disappeared. It is still there, I can access my programs there and I can go to the cmd line and do a dos dir /h command (to show the hidden files) and the file was present. There use to be an attribute command in dos to set the hide/unhide attribute, but this did not work. It has been a long time since I have navigated in dos and dos help in windows 7 is slim. What can I do? Bob EMail Address Removed - Nigel.
  2. Hi, just spent a couple of hours getting rid of this junk. So sorry to say that PC Matic didn't catch it, but thanks to Malwarebytes did and hopefully, I'm clean.. Just thought you might want to know.
