  1. Yeah that would be best. She could try asking someone in the company to ask whoever handles their IT services about it.
  2. The site she is connecting from may possibly be blocking the default RDP port 3389, preventing her from making connections. She may get around it by changing the port RDP uses or establishing a VPN connection to her desktop, allowing her to use RDP with no hassles.
  3. 1. RDP is definitely one of the fastest and most efficient options out there. Since it's a direct connection you're getting the most out of your connection between both points. BUT GoToMyPC would probably be a simpler option to go with if your client will be accessing her workstation from various locations. Nearly every site is likely to have the required ports open for it to operate properly, whereas RDP may require some tweaking of their firewalls depending on the type of security they are enforcing. 2. Cloud solutions charge hundreds to thousands when you start talking terabytes. The only cost effective solutions for accessing that much data is either a remote connection to her workstation, FTP service, or carry some of the data with her (which I wouldn't recommend).
  4. Using the same passkey works. I have my SMP's using the same passkeys with no problems at all.
  5. Dungeons and Dragons Online is a good one. www.ddo.com Battlefield Heroes is a fun shooter. http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/
  6. I would have to guess you are hearing the hard drive. Assuming it is not a solid state disk. Or is the sound coming from the speakers?
  7. This way takes much longer but it may work. Download the trial client HERE Download the patches below. v2.4.0 v2.4.1 v2.4.2 v2.4.3 v3.0.1 v3.0.2 Before proceeding, be sure you are logged in as a user with administrator rights to the computer. Uninstall WOW and delete the leftover directory in the Program Files folder. Do not save any configuration files or addons or later use. Now install the trial client but do not launch the game. Once the trial client is done installing, start installing the patches in the order listed. After each patch is done it will open the wow launchpad or start the game client. Close out of the launchpad or client and start installing the next patch. Repeat until you are done installing 3.0.2. After you are done patching, log on to the game and enter the world with one of your characters. Then exit the game immediately and go to the WOW directory under Program Files. Run the file Repair.exe. Make sure all 3 options are checked then click on Reset And Check Files. It will check if any of the database files for the game are corrupted or altered and will replaced them with good files. I know that process is very long with the many gigabytes of data to download, but it has seemed to work best for me when helping friends out with corrupted wow installations. It may or may not work for you, so don't get your hopes up. I do hope it helps though.
  8. I use a Dell Ultrasharp 20.1" widescreen LCD. It's the best thing i've ever bought for my computer. It's has d-sub, dvi, s-video, and composite inputs. So you can have a device of each type connected to it and switch between the inputs with a push of a button on the monitor. It can do PIP with the multiple input sources or can view two sources side by side. You can also physically rotate the monitor screen to view it as a long screen from top to bottom rather than wide side to side.

Just buy it now. It's worth $50.

  11. One thing I would change in both configs is the hard drive size. A 120GB drive would be more suitable for a gaming computer since some of the current games use over 5GB of hard drive space.
  12. Why does this all even matter? We know the PS3 will sell out no mater how good or bad of a console it is. The only thing I see wrong with the PS3 is the price.
  13. What kind of power supply would one use for a computer system with three 8800GTX's? A 1KW PSU would barely be able to handle the cards alone.
  14. From your description of it, im thinking it's a Slot A Athlon
