  3. My sister brought her computer to me asking me to fix it. Not sure whats going on though. I know there's a virus I just need to get everything wiped. She told me she was downloading music from Limewire. Here is the error message she's getting: "There was a problem starting C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\KBDSMs.dll Operation did not complete due to virus" There's also a virus in C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\uyunedev.dll Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Yeah, I just installed the firewall and nothing else. It didn't give a name of a virus scanner....
  5. Is there a certain way you would configure AVG 8.0? I've searched and the only thing I can find are configurations for older versions. What about ZoneAlarm? Any certain configuration for that?
  6. Thanks for everything! One more question, why is AVG telling me I still have another anti-virus program? I D/L zone alarm and that's it. Here are my list of programs: Ad-aware MalwareBytes Webroot spysweeper enterprise zone alarm any of these I need to get rid of to get an anti-virus? I completely wiped out Norton.
  7. Yes I ran the uninstall for combofix
  8. What's the best anti-virus program? I've done a little research and I keep coming up with the Kaspersky. What are your thoughts on that program?
  9. I finally got the McAfee deleted, I think. I started in safe mode, I tried the tool you gave me but it didn't work. So I just went to the folder like you first said to do and deleted it. It let me do it in safe mode and not in the regular mode for some reason. You told me to post back to let you know what problems still remained. So far nothing that I'm aware of. The computer is running great! CPU usage is way down. Are you wanting another HJT log? I'll post one just in case... Thanks so much for all of your help!! 10. Nope. "McAfee Enterprise software detected. Cannot continue."
  11. It won't let me delete the McAfee. It says access is denied. I am on the admin. account too. Do I still proceed with this step? --- **Next, launch Notepad, (Start > Run, type in: notepad) copy and paste the text in blue below in it:(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4) REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "McAfeeUpdaterUI"=-
  12. I have one question, you keep on saying I have McAfee anti-virus. I looked through the log and it says Common Framework.....Does this mean it's anti-virus? I've never installed it nor has UD. Do I need it? What does the Common Framework mean? BTW thanks for all the help so far.....this computer is working sooo much better!!
