  1. Computer is fixed now guys. The problem? Bad RAM. Replaced it and then it worked. Weird huh?
  2. Yeah, I know, I tried using the arrow keys but no luck. Im not using a USB keyboard. And I have no clue what to do next. I was able to load the OS again and worked fine but as soon as I shut down, it wouldnt start up again properly. Is there something Im doing wrong???
  3. I cant even manage to get into BIOS. The screen freezes and I cant navigate thru it. All I see is this and thats it.
  4. Ok, the Thermal Compound didn't seem to have worked at all. I did remove all the hardware and left just the CPU and RAM on it and I got this strange message. "Verifying DMI Pool Data Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (Build 082) Copyright © 1997-2000 Intel Corporation SiS900 PXE BootROM v1.09 Hook Int18 CLIENT MAC ADDR: 001617459913 GUID: FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF PXE-E51 : No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were recieved. PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM." And that was it. So then I hooked up all the hardware and I got this other message: DMI Pool Data The File is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum. (The message above only showed up once and after that all I got was the blinking _ ) What does this all mean? The hard drive isnt corrupted cuz I hooked it up to the PC I'm using right now, and apperantly it works or else I wouldnt be typing this! So please let me know anything else that I can try.
  5. Ok thank you very much, I will be heading to Staples right away. And I still cant belive I forgot about the compound!Once again, thank you for your help.
  6. I have tried and tried and it doesnt work. I cannot get passed the blinking line except for one time and thats when the PC actually worked.
  7. Ummmmmm.......No. Daing it...I totally forgot about that. OMG, do you thing that is the problem? Did I fry up the processor? But i mean, how come it booted up once fine and then the next, it didnt?
  8. Hello guys, I seem to have a problem with one of my friends PC. He brought me a CISNET PC to fix with an ASUS P5s800VM motherboard in it and 512MB of ram. The entire PC was dead. The power supply didnt work, his motherboard was dead and the hard drive was corrupted. So I order him those parts off of eBay. And completly rebuilt him an almost new computer. The new motherboard is an MSI MS-7103 661FM3 and I order him a used hard drive. (western digital 40GB) I had a pretty good power supply laying around here in my house and decided to use that one. The CPU seemed ok as I tested it on a working PC so I didnt need to buy one. So after all the parts arrived I tested them seperatly and all seemed fine. I hooked them all up like I was supposed to and voila! The PC turned on and everything was fine. All I need to do was load an OS to it and that was it. But thats the problem. I couldnt just insert the Ubuntu disk and start installation. It wouldnt do nothing. The screen would have a blinking _ all the time. So I took out the hard drive and put it in into my working PC, loaded Ubuntu and finished installation in under 10 minutes. So I then took out the hard drive and inserted it back onto the "CISNET" pc and for some reason, it worked fine. Ubuntu loaded and I messed around with it making sure it wouldnt crash or anything. So I shut down computer, next day, I try some more testing and the damn thing wouldnt boot! The same blinking line would be there and no booting up from there! I would understand that something doesnt work but the PC did boot up once and it worked fine! Everything was in working conditions. So whats wrong with it? I cant figuere it out! Oh and if I try putting one of my other working hard drives with XP into the PC, they wont load either. One other thing, I cant get to the BIOS setting. Why is that? I am really fustruated and I would appreciate some help cuz Im completly lost on this one! (sorry for the super long story) =]
  9. Hello, I've recently added a DVD burner to my computer and as I add homemade videos to my hard drive so I can burn them later...It tells me that Im running out of space! I have a 30 GB hard drive installed and I only have about 5 GBs left! I have about maybe 7 GBs of music and pictures all together...Does that mean that my operating system is taking up about 18 GBs of hard drive memory!?!?!??!??!??!
