  2. Have no definitive knowledge as to when it was. It has been at least two months. Prefer to take some other route, rather than experiment with an earlier state.

Thanks to Intel Guy. ran cmd tool as administrator per request repair completed per tool. restarted pc and logged in. still nothing past page that opens and shows pc status software malware performance drive health. no hourglass showing tests running, just arrow. waited 20 minutes, still nothing.
  4. used overdrive for years. when launching overdrive, window opens that says" pc utility will gather data....etc" and screen stops. will also not open when trying to running "old tests. System is vista home premium 32 bit" checked FAQS and cookies and security at correct setting. ActiveX installed and working correctly. disabled firewall and antispyware settings. and still not working. rand sfc/scannow as administrator from elevated prompt. OK appreciate any ideas that will launch this.........have tried suggestion on troubleshooting page. nothing woeked. reset
  5. years of using overdrive on this computer. recently overdrive will not launch. get to window that says" pcpitstop will collect data...." and it stops. can launch all test individually, but not overdrive scan. have followed FAQS and checked cookies and security settings.   7. it seems to be OK. controls in IE and dialup have been restored. speed is satisfactory after defrag disk & registry. still looking, but it would seem to me that the problem is corrected and I THANK YOU for your help.   11. infected with ntos.exe command, run through system.ini:userinit.exe, c:windows\systems32\user.init.exe,C;\windows\system32\ntos.exe, has blocked explorer launch throug dialup connection, as well as some shortcut browser keys have tried spybot, adaware, and avg as well as trying to delete through the registry/ ran KILLBOX and typed in c:\windows\system32\ntos.exe as per suggestion in Google.
