  1. Hi wewhite1, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team. What version of Norton Internet Security do you have installed? Please let me know. If you need to update, let me know and I can then provide you with the step-by-step instructions to do a clean installation. 2. Hi Calenutt, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team. Can you please tell me which Norton product and what version you currently have installed? You can determine this by opening your Norton application, select the "Help & Support" link and then choose "About". Having outdated definition files should not affect your ability to connect to the internet. LiveUpdate not only updates your definition files, but also applies any updates to the application files as well, including Firewall components. As long as you are using a 2009-2010 version of a Norton product

  4. Hi Bombaye', This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team. What version of Norton 360 are you currently using? If you have not already done so, manually run LiveUpdate and then complete a "Comprehensive System Scan" with Norton 360 to see if it detects any infections. After you complete the scan, and if you are using Norton 360 version 1 or 2 and have a valid subscription, you are entitled to a free update to Norton 360 version 3, which I highly recommend. Please NOTE, while this process will update you to the latest version of Norton 360, it will not extend your su

  6. Hi Jim, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team. The thread that Bear posted from Tek-Tips lists the correct information for this particular problem. When the Windows Installer package becomes corrupt, the installation of Norton Internet Security could be affected, which is why, for optimal security, we advise that you properly uninstall and then reinstall Norton Internet Security, making sure to run LiveUpdate manually followed by a "Full System Scan" to check for infections. Please carefully follow the instructions in the following document to resolve this issue.
  7. Hi Dan, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support team responding to your post. Can you please verify for me weather you are using Norton AntiVirus 2008 or Norton Internet Security 2008? You may need to change some settings depending on which product you are using. However, the first thing you should try is to manually run LiveUpdate and make sure that the latest program and definition files are installed. After you run LiveUpdate, please complete a Full System Scan to make sure that your computer has not been infected. Please clarify your Norton product, which version of Win

  9. Hi mrmaint, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team responding to your post. The things that can cause the virus definition files to appear out of date are the following: 1. Your system clock and time zone are set incorrectly. 2. Your computer has been compromised by a virus, etc. 3. Your LiveUpdate module and the latest definition files became corrupted. This is the most likely cause. The easiest way to resolve this problem is to use the Norton Intelligent Updater, which will install the latest version of LiveUpdate as well as the latest definition files.
  10. Hi GunSNRoses, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team responding to your posting. It appears that your computer may be infected with a mutation of the Vundu trojan. Since you have already run the Norton Removal Tool and a system scan, yet still appear to be infected, it is possible that settings in Norton Internet Security 2006 may have not be set correctly, or the installation may have become corrupted. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps: First, Disable System Restore in Windows: 1. Click Start. 2. Right-click My Computer, and then click
