  1. Yikes, those are hideous! Are you sure you have no other option?
  2. That's a pretty good overclock you have there. Is it completely stable?
  3. From what I've seen, you can easily pirate games for consoles too.
  4. I bought a Gateway and then rebuilt it. I bought it 1 year ago and it had a Quad core, 3 GB of RAM, and a 500 GB HDD. Excellent deal at $1000. You can definitely buy a pre-built computer for your price and even lower. However, Crysis is one of those games that even the best and most expensive computers cannot run well on max settings. Although most people on here will tell you to build it, which isn't a bad idea, but it is not everyone's cup of tea. You can search through Gateway, Dell, iBuypower, Cyberpower, and that's only naming a few.
  5. You should try to test it with a more valid hard drive benchmark before you begin to worry.
  6. Your hard drive speed is pretty low, that's weird.
  7. It sounds like you're using a system that is at least 9 years old from what you are saying.

  9. I was never in your position. I had SATA since 2003.
  10. Haha, reminds me of when I was stuck on an AGP platform.
  11. Eh, that's what I thought at first, but when you use it for a few days, you'll get to know it well. This reminds me of when everyone (including myself) did not want to switch to XP from 98 or 2000.
  12. Don't use Vista, eh? I suggest using it. You can have a dual boot with XP for benchmarking.
  13. Don't use the pit test as an indicator of video card performance.
  14. I'm using Vista home premium. Edit: I've tested a Visiontek HD 3870 and a Sapphire HD 3870. Both were fine.
  15. I've used the S-Video to component output and the DVI to HDMI output. I've used maximum supported resolutions for each output. I've run Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, WoW, Star Trek Armada II, Half Life Episode 2, Portal, Prey, and 3dMark2001 with no problems.
  16. I've had my HD 3870 run on multiple large screen TVs, both plasma and LCD, and I have not seen any problem.
  17. Did you try plugging it into the other DVI port? I hear it works. http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware...hd3850x2/2.html
  18. I know my Cooler Master Stacker came with an accessory that allowed two power supplies to run in tandem. Perhaps you can buy this accessory somewhere.
