  1. It is most likely the MOSFETs. Either that or that reading is erroneous.
  2. Here's what mine looks like as to have a means of comparison:
  3. That is not your CPU temperature. Just minimize that section.
  4. Use CPUID Hardware Monitor, it's much more thorough.
  5. Look at the difference here: Similar set up: (RAM score is at 14,000+) http://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?c...;report=Summary My set up: (RAM score is at 10,300) http://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?c...;report=Summary I've never seen anything like it.
  6. A bit pricey for a 2 GB kit, eh? I need a control test. Can anyone do that sandra test with their RAM at 1 GHz (CPU @ around 3 GHz)? That would be most excellent.
  7. Let me help you with that, grasshopper. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&saf...;oq=&aqi=g1 You see, sometimes when you search for something, you must refine your search or change your search terms slightly. Isn't learning fun?
  8. As far as I've read, you didn't really answer the question at all. The one sentence you wrote about it does not cover it very well. Perhaps you should try harder to answer such a simple question as it is your hobby.
  9. You asked a simple question that I typed into Google and found several responses all within the first 5 results. Me and several other members here taught you how to obtain information which is even better than simply regurgitating information at you. The ultimate goal here is to get you to become well versed in PC knowledge so that you could eventually help others with questions. I don't appreciate your rudeness especially when I not only answered your question with several sources but I also showed you how to get such answers easily in the future. For teaching you a very helpful skill b
  10. Don't worry, buddy. The pit will always be here for the people who lack the search skills to find their own answers to certain problems.
  11. Yes, my 4890 has one that is similar as well and it keeps the card even cooler than my old two-slot 3870 was.
  12. Quite a nice cooler for such a cheap card. I bet it's a great overclocker.
  13. We're more like a diagnosis service rather than simple regurgitation of definitions that are easily available on dictionary websites across the web.
  14. Some questions that require no expertise are more adequately answered with a simple google search. Especially when the questions asked are already phrased so well for a google search.
  15. I was very tempted to post that in his last thread when he asked for reviews.
  16. Whatever you do, just don't get that one as it is plagued with problems. There are a variety of other 4870s around the same price as the one you previously wanted. I suggest browsing them and reading what people have to say about them. Try to look for problem reviews that repeat the same issues consecutively in order to avoid purchasing a bad one such as the one you mentioned earlier.
  17. I've done a thorough removal of the drivers and my 3dmark06 went up by 20 points. It's very strange that my RAM is still under performing even though I contacted Mushkin to get the right memory timings for my set up. CPUZ: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=602924
  18. Don't get that card, it has been known to have severe heat issues.
  19. If you had read previous posts, you would see that this was already the outcome. He has seen what is wrong with his card and he chose to send it back.
  20. Obviously you didn't read the thread because you'd see that the fan is stuck at 100% of its available speed at all times. Thus, your suggestions of using programs to increase the speed wouldn't work because the fan is ALWAYS at 100%. Do you understand now?
