  1. It is an Intel NVMe SSD .. M.2 connection, under the vid card. Plus, it is over 2x faster in these tests than 2 other SSD's on other machines. Maybe you misread the result, 1155 MB/s. The Samsung are quicker, but this is OK for a budgeted build. I wonder how your machine compares? A different testing program, providing a more likely result when compared to other machines, Passmark software.
  2. Thanks Tx, spending Aus$50 (US$32) on the board is worth it, when it has much data and older games installed, lose all that on newer builds. I've had to do some games from day 1 several times, and whilst I get better and faster each time, I prefer it to be available with all the bells and whistles I have won in the games when I play. And, I already had the processor and some spare DDR3 RAM laying around. Thanks for the link, not a lot there I can find that might help. And to top that off, I was building another machine at the time .. http://http//www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?
  3. http://http//www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?conid=26071786 I did not log in to do the test, so I do not think it is saved, even though I look at it whilst I type this. Different machine. Budget build with last generation bits, but being AM4, it is next generation capable for the foreseeable future, according the AMD. It also has a PCIe vers 4 Bios .. not that that is any use ATM. The Gigabyte board was RMA'd and replaced, first time around .. I am still nervous about this replacement, however it manages to stay running now. Quite happy with it overall, and, as you
  4. I managed to get a completed test result. Had to use the **OLD VERSION** link .. and go there 2 times .. the standard link ran the tests but dumped me to the normal no session page. Anyway, happy to report success, even if the long way around. I had not logged in, so the test result is not saved, I think .. http//www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?conid=26071786 I will reply to another thread about an older machine I am maintaining. Someone asked why not build a new one .. I was, but the old ones do all they needed to do .. with a little TLC. Sorry to be so negative in
  5. I would post a test, however it fully completes and then tosses me to a *no session* page. Anyway, I had an old Packard Bell AM2+/DDR2 which I had been upgrading over the years, vid cards and recently a processor ( AM3 CPU fits ). LOL, that was like puting a V8 into a Cortina .. the 10+ year old board died 3 months later, * POP * oops .. So, I spent $50 on a Foxconn AMD AM3 (A76MLK_3.0) PCIe V2 board that would take all the stuff off the old board, and give it DDR3 RAM and allow the video card to run closer to proper speeds. Board came as OEM, no disc. FOXCONN (channel) site is de
  6. Me and 1000s of others ... running these tests has become a joke, and this was a wonderful place to get great advice. Fully complete all tests, have cookies exactly how they say, active X allowed and obviously active ... tried on 2 different machines, both exactly the same, get to the end and sit looking at a BS screen telling me I have not done anything. Lying to me about my cookie settings, lying to me about no session, how pathetic. I note also, many complain of this, yet there are no answers offered and the ones with a comment say the developers have been contacted. Well, for 3 years I hav
