  1. I spoke too soon. The repo config fails, probably cause they don't exist yet. But still great to look forward to.
  2. Oh man, is this sweet or what! I haven't even finished installing yet but a couple of nice things: extra software base repos counfigured by default if you let it; ext3 default filesystem...
  3. FreeNX, interesting. I have never used it. Here's a Fedora Core 5 howto updated July 13, 2006. HOWTO setup Freenx on Fedora yum install freenx According to this page freenx uses encrypted connections: http://nomachine.com/documentation/html/intr-technology.html

    Kernel Compilation

Go for it Kram! You can't be a proper geek wannabe like me till you've compiled your own kernel at least once. I can't find instructions in 10.0 docs, but read chapter 9 in the SuSE 9.3 admin guide for some ideas. I haven't done a 10.0 kernel (re)compile so I can't say if all is the same; it wouldn't suprise me either way. http://www.novell.com/documentation/suse93...in93-screen.pdf
  5. Thre is a program that handles that and more called Automatix. I haben't done it, I just saw it. Here a link to a forum with the download link in the first post: Automatix - download link

    For John44

    Bruce, your rpm worked perfectly on this 32 bit SuSE 10.0 Kde installation. Good work! http://www.simplico.org/gvidcap-test1.mpeg Giga1:~ # rpm --test -Uvh gvidcap.rpm warning: gvidcap.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 709dfc53 Preparing... ########################################### [100%] Giga1:~ # rpm -Uvh gvidcap.rpm warning: gvidcap.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 709dfc53 Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:xvidcap ########################################### [100%] Giga1:~ #

    For John44

http://itsyourpc.org/video/desk.mpeg Amazing!! If that desktop could cook, I'd marry it. I'll try the rpm later.

    For John44

I just saw this now Bruce. I'll take a look a little later. Thanks!
  9. Ohhh,...Ok. But no file bigger than 4GB tho.
  10. You can't. You can read, copy, but not write/change with the standard ntfs file tools in 10.0. There are other distros that will write/delete/change ntfs, but not reliably enough yet for me. Unless you wanna get ahead of the game, I'd stick to read only for now till the linux ntfs prorams are perfected.

    Delta ISOs

I dunno about that psicon. Look in some repos and see if there were any deltas to go from 10.0 RC? to 10.0. I don't remember any.
  12. Yast>system partitioner. Click on the partition then the edit button. Type in a mount point like /home/KRAM/ntfs1.
  13. You must be logged on as root or have root permissions.
