Good evening everyone! I was given a Compaq Presario with Windows 95 by a friend. The graphics are terrible and I keep getting general protection faults and fatal exception errors. I assume there's a problem with the memory, but when I ran a test there were no problems with the memory, only a problem with the CD-Rom drive. It's error #6605, and I have no idea what that means. Does anyone know? And I still don't know what's causing the memory problems. I'm going to check the power supply and maybe make sure that the SIMMS are properly seated, but if that doesn't work, what else could be the problem? As for the graphics, maybe I should change the graphics card? Although I had a computer once that did the same thing and I was told that wouldn't help, that I should just buy a new computer. That was before I started studying as a pc tech, so I took the advice, but I really want to fix this one. I still don't know much, but I'm learning. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
