  1. I would suggest reinstalling windows as mark suggested, also once you have reinstalled run virus checks ect regularly to keep it from happening again.
  2. wow just got windows xp sp2 32 bit not registered though so i could see if it worked its so much faster so far i am going to install the necessary drivers and ill let you know how it goes.
  3. it wouldnt be because i havent installed vista sp1 would it, i havent downloaded that updte because i heard it had some bugs ect.
  4. i uninstalled all the drivers for my graphics card and still have it plugged in but now i am getting no freezing or lock ups when i watch tv which i used to get a lock up every 5 minutes ish so why when i install the new driver does it start freezing so wierd and very frustrating happens on both my graphics cards.
  5. but i tryed other ram the ram that came with it and the same problems, i also tested the ram and it came back fine.
  6. lucky none of my parts are actually maxdata really. If there bust you wouldn't get any updates i guess. anyway im gonna give xp sp2 a try and if i still get the same problems i am just going to come to the conclusion that its broke and save up for a decent pc.
  7. its a maxdata workstation, doesnt have a model written on it and there wasnt one the website when i bought it.
  8. Incidently i noticed i am getting the ati driver from amd website does this matter because i have intel..
  9. ok well thanks for the advice but it didnt seem to work, does anybody think going back to xp would help given my specs aren't the greatest because my friend has a windows xp pro 64 bit cd he doesn't use so im sure he will let me use that.
