  3. I have used PC PITSTOP for a very long time and I have donated in the past but i purchased PC Optimizer because the money helps keep this website alive. In reference to JAZZYs comment. If you like the help and free advice, SUPPORT THE SITE!! I have yet to find a "free" program hat works as well and have gotten away from using "free" anything due to the security issues you may encounter. Cheaters NEVER PROSPER!!
  4. 96 Degrees is mighty mighty hot! Mine runs at average 50 degrees. first thing i'd look at is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!, Where is your PC sitting? on a carpeted fllor in a tight corner by an exterior wall? If it is any of these places, move it into a well ventilated area, get it up off the carpet definitely! your power supply could be going. with the case open and running, try to move your hand around inside and see if you can feel where the most heat is coming from. There has to be something causing this. Good Luck with it!

I'm calling it what it is, MALICIOUS MALWARE!! I noticed my PC slowed down the past couple days so I ran a PestPatrol scan, Guess who shows up 16 times in my registry?? "PCMIGHTYMAX"!! I have NEVER been to their site and I know I never downloaded this from anywhere. I have EULA-WATCH installed and it grabs ANY EULA that tries to install. I have no record of this for PCMIGHTYMAX being installed. I will tell everyone to STAY AWAY from this site. run scans at least every few days to a week. These morons are getting very good at slipping stuff under the radar. PCMIGHTYMAX is MALWARE!!!
  6. I have been able to fix the issue! The cable co finally came out to look and found that A: my modem was fried and B: the main line on my street is fried! They replaced the modem and will fix the main line outside today sometime. I am now able to complete my tests and do not get booted. I think it must have been a speed issue!! my modem wasn't able to keep up with the signal demands from the test process. I want to thank all who gave me advice and help. it certainly died help to clean my PC and adjust some settings. The people on these forums are the BEST!!
  7. Yes, I meant Defender. I have tried turning off everythig. i am pretty sure I have a deep virus. I am curretly digging for it. I'll let you know. If I get it corrected. Thank you for your help.

  9. I have been a PC Pitstop User for many years and have never had an issue. Recently I setup Vonage phone system and now my internet speed is dead slow, (should be 3mbps down, is now 1mbps on a good day) AND I cannot run PCPitstop tests any more. the keep crashing, usually at the saving results page. I am very concerned about the extreme loss of speed in my cable modem than anything. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!! I a running a AMD Athalon 180, 512mb memory, WIN XP SP2, all is up tp date. Here are the latest successful results i sent to TechExpress: http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=ES1N0WBFSUQSDXZQ I tried the techexpress solutions but nothing had worked. here is the BHO list: Browser Helper Objects Installed AcroIEHlprObj Class McBrwHelper Class McAfee Privacy Service Popup Blocker McAfee AntiPhishing Filter {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} BlueFrogBho Helper Running Applications by Window Title It is "normal" to have many strangely named windows on this list.
