  1. No, it's no secret. I saw the thread, voiced my sympathies and agreements, and offered the ones that wanted it a comparable option. That's all. You all have a great day.
  2. Sure they do. They have a political discussions forum where the same rules are in place.......the difference is the rules are gone by and not constantly broken.
  3. Wow.......in the short time since I posted I've been swamped with PMs. It's gotten that bad here? Such a shame.
  4. Ah dear JoSiEBeLLe, I never come here any more....this is the first time in a very long time and yours is the first thread I saw. I've just slipped away quietly for the very same reason you're leaving. It's just not worth it to be here any more, for the most part. You get sarcasm and disrespect in just about any subforum here any more, and I have much more to do than put up with the egotistical garbage of the ones who think they are above everyone else here....probable the very ones you're speaking of. I have a place to go where it's all about the PC help, and the atmosphere is wo
  5. Wow......well that's not the best way to get a new computer, but congrats anyway. Sorry I couldn't help more. Regards, tea
  6. Yes, I know there are serious issues here. I sent you a tool via PM for them to try and you've made no mention of it whatsoever. Please look in your PMs one more time. tea
  7. I sent you a PM last night. Did you get it?
  8. Why did you tell them to change those?? They're supposed to be there and are legit! Just the file should be deleted of those you listed. Now I know you're a fellow Pitster, but if you're asking for my help, then please stick to it. If you don't want to do this then I won't be held responsible for these things you're doing and will stop trying to help you now. Your call. tea

  11. I never dreamed you would. Just a typical reaction when posts get edited or disappear here. BTW, I probably would have sent a PM too, since I see where he tells others to check their PMs in the support threads.
  12. Smile? Nope........these are great. Had a good laugh!
  13. That just goes to show you how much money there is to be made in malware. They have the money to advertise anywhere they like, and as much as they like, mess up as many PCs as they like, with money left over to have fun with. I'm in the Dallas area.......you say it's on one of the local channels? I don't do TV, but I'd be interested to see this ad.
  14. I bet she's seen it already, but you're welcome.
  15. Hello there, Juliet can't be here right now, so I'm checking in on some of her threads for her. That last log looks good. How is it running now? Are the original problems gone? Regards, tea
  16. Any idea at all if anything was different that you noticed after the restore? A file, something you installed, something in running processes? If so, please let me know so I can note the behavior for future use. There was nothing to go by in your log, and the tools never showed anything, except SDFix from a previous run. Kind of a mystery there. The following is what I tell everyone. Pick and choose what suits you best : Below I have included a number of recommendations on how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations

  18. Might seem like a silly question, but have you tried disabling or uninstalling your firewall? I use Comodo, and sometimes I don't pay attention to what it asks and I end up denying Firefox.....and that equals no internet. I usually end up uninstalling it then reinstalling and starting over.
  19. Hello, You said : Are you being redirected or not able to connect at all? I see you've run SDFix.....did it find anything? If so, please post the report, if you still have it. Thanks, tea

  22. Hi lugnut! What a darling little girl! I have 6 kids myself. Don't you worry about how big or small your computer is. Yours is actually bigger and faster than mine! I have a little old Dell running 128 m RAM as a dedicated folder, and it gets it done.
