I was updating a driver suggested by Driver Agent, but in not paying close attention, I accidentally installed another driver, for the CPU. I know, I know, never install drivers when watching hockey! Anyway, now Win XP Pro will not boot. I tried the boot options ‘last known good configuration’ and get a blank screen. I’ve tried ‘Safe Mode’ and lines scroll down and stop at ‘multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\Mup.sys’. I have Bart PE so I can find the raid drives, with all my files, but do not know how I can uninstall the incorrect driver. I did find restore points, before the fatal driver update, but again, not sure what to do next.
Does anyone have any advice?
