  5. On the Windows 7 Machine, try this - win+r > gpedit.msc > Computer Configuration > windows settings > security settings > security options > "Network Security: LAN Manager Security Level" = "Send LM & NTLM responses" Or this- On win7, open regedit (start/run) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\ as if it was a folder list. Look for lmcompatibilitylevel on right side, should be 0 or 1. If it don't exist, create it: - Right click/new dword - Name it acordly (LmCompatibilityLevel) - Set value to 0 or 1 (test it) Does the same as using gpedit, and should work on home edition. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/ed05788a-af43-4df6-b124-fdb57391752e/

  8. Thanks! I though I was loosing my mind. I was thinking that it would relate more to web site owners. Oh, well... A lot of legitimate web sites are being compromised and this is just one more step in the direction to identify them.

  12. Has anyone used this yet? What do you think about it? http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2010/11/20/adobe-reader-x-with-sandboxing-now-available/ Note: If you download it from http://get.adobe.com/reader uncheck the Free McAfee® Security Scan Plus (optional) on the right side, unless you want to install it. From what I have read about it, the only option to improve your security is to install WOT (which you can do separately) or purchase McAfee.
  13. It explains why it is important for some people with OEM builds to back up their MBR.
