  1. I am confused by your post too. It says somewhere that it is an INTEL, then you say it is an AMD, but above that it still says INTEL. What is it???
  2. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=K1NNSW64S4GS8AKG here is my result page. Do I loose something at all if I cannot "ping"? All e-mail is ok, all newsgroups I can access and Firefox works fine.
  3. I do not know how to do what you suggest, namely "unblock". I use Trend Micro Pro . Just a separate question. What is the purpose of PING if I can access web pages, e-mail and newsgroups? Is it even a concern???
  4. When I go to RUN, then CMD, and type "PING PCPITSTOP.COM" (without the exclamation marks of course) it comes back that it does not recognize such a command.
  5. Here are my results: Overall score for system "YOUR-4DACD0EA75": 2738 I always get a ping score of 0 ms, yet I connect to all sites fine. What causes that? Any other comments re my test?
  6. I forgot that I had to go to Properties on the external drive. I did but there was nothing the diskmanagement saw other than to compress about 157MB of files.
  7. When I go to Control Panel and Administrator and then Diskmanagement, I see no tab or window that would examine the disk for "junk" or unnecessary files on this external drive. Can you direct me? I see in PCPistop where it can check or fix items under Win95/98, win ME, but nothing thereafter. Thanks for response
  8. PC Pitstop says I have about 320 MB "junk files" on an external hard drive. I have Optimize which PC Pitstop recommends, but it does not touch external drives. I see no "junk files" on the external disk. How can I proceed? Here is the resiult from PC Pitstop: http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=EBNLHWYBE4VSFQFV BTW When is PC Pitstop EVER upgrading to at least XP? They seem to have stopped at ME ! Unbelievably!
  9. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=8UFSFWY11LJSSALC Above show my result with a new HP Dual core AMD 4400+ I appreciate comments here or at Ritter197 at Verizon dot net Thanks in advance
  10. Well, after updating some drivers via Driveragent.com, my score went up a lot, BUT I still have a high CPU usage. How can I bring that down? I am TRYING to stop the first 4 programs when I bring up Windows, but they still run. I tried MSConfig, Startup Optimizer, Speed up my PC, Registry Booster, CCleaner, Ad-Aware and Spybot. These 4 programs keep on coming up with the log-on. Anyhow, here are my results: http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=L89DPWTM4TCSN8XC thanks for any help

  13. I just did the test again and turned off Hyperthreading in the BIOS. Right away the score goes up, not as much as before, but it is a beginning. Here are the new results:TechExpress link for your current results: http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=EYJZPWTM4TCSW46C Any comments?
