  1. My father's computer is in some pretty bad trouble. I can not get to any pc help web sites like PC Pitstop. If I type in pcpitstop.com or majorgeek.com the browser get's redirected to virusremover2008.com (which is malware). On boot an "Antivirus XP 2008" start some kind of scan but this program is also malware. I also have an IE toolbar that run's PCPrivacyCleaner (which is malware). It has this cool screen saver that is a blue screen of death and it rolls to like a windows XP boot screen but it is only a screen saver. I am sure it has more problems but I can not get to any PC Pitstop to do a scan of my computer to tell. I am attaching my HJT log file let me know what you think I should do, hijackthis.txt Thanks

    video survey?

One of two things could be happening for the link in the email to go directly to the thank-you page. 1.) The initial email had a bad link but was fixed shortly after the email was sent. Click here to take the survey. 2.) You may have already completed the survey. We sent the same survey out in last month's newsletter and if you took it at that time it will just forward you to the thank-you page and not ask you to take it again.

  12. Right after you make a purchase the license key is availible on the next screen, the digital product screen. Which allows you to download the application again if want another copy. Also your license key is email to you shortly after you complete the purchase. Usually within a minute but this can vary depending on your ISP and sometimes SPAM filters block your license key email. If you still do not have your license key I would suggest going to our sevice page and letting us know. We will get one sent to you as quick as possible. Thanks, Keith
  13. If the latest version does not fix the issue you are seeing please send us a message through our service desk http://pcpitstop.com/store/service.asp and we will follow up with you to resolve the issue. Thanks, Keith
  14. Both products have a registry cleaner but Optimize also tunes your internet settings, cleans up your hard drive of junk files and also adjust some window registry settings to improve your overall system performance. Registry Mechanic has a very deep registry cleaner it will clean up many more registry errors that Optimize does not find. We design Optimize to run fast and a deep registry clean takes a very long time. I would recommend running Optimize weekly or month when you want a quick cleaning and Registry Mechanic periodically when you have time to run it. Thanks, Keith

  18. No Pest Patrol and Optimize have completely different license keys. Optimize license keys start with P and are 12 character long including the dash and P i.e. PXXXX-XXXXXX. You should be able to see your license key in your order information from CA. Click here to retrieve your information. If you can not find your information send us a message through our customer service page and make sure to include your order number. http://www.pcpitstop.com/store/service.asp Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience, Keith
  19. Are goal is to make Optimize very safe and if a file is in use we do not want to delete that file it could cause a major problem. Thank you for the feed back we will look at making some text adjustments in future releases to make it clearer that files are in use. Keith
  20. Run a system restore, after you are in windows in safe mode click on Start, Help and Support, Undo changes to your computer with System Restore. 21. No, it does not we suggest looking at WinTask Pro for application that helps you with startup programs. Keith
  22. RWIN is the most important setting realated to internet connection speed. Setting it too low can limit your throughput and setting too high could also reduce your connection speed. In our Max setting we did not want to limit throughput and found many similar application setting broadband connections at 256960 for XP & Pro. We tested this settings on many PC with different internet providers and based on the testing found that this would be the best setting for our Max broadband connection. We understand that each computer is little different and this exact setting may not be the very best for everyone but it should give all users a nice performance gain over the default setting.
  23. Could you send us a note through our service page so we can have you send us your log file to take a closer look. Thanks, Keith
  24. I was not familiar with DrTCP until your note. I just looked at it using XP and we make the same changes to the same place in the registry. I made changes using Dr TCP and Optimize suggested changing them back. So I am not sure what you are seeing that makes you feel it is not working. If you want you can send us a note through the service page, we can look at your log file to see if Optimize is suggesting the correct changes. As for not seeing an increase in your internet, there are many factors in your internet connection speed and the settings that optimize changes on paper should increase the speed of your connect. It may not in every case because there may not be anything to gain. Most people see large gains in internet performance but not everyone has. As for worth the purchase question, optimize does some other registry changes that help increase the overall speed of your computer and cleans up errors in your registry & removes junk files on your hard drive. It is easy to use and fast. You would need to try it to really know if it was worth the money and if it is not you can always request a refund. Keith
  25. Can you send us a note through our service page so we can identify you better and have you send us your log file so we can take a look at it. Thanks, Keith
