  1. Correct me if I'm wrong But doesn't the EVGA manual say you can use the 4 pin on the left side of that 8 pin connector? That may not be ideal but it still should work. In that pic it does look as if that cap has been bent slightly.
  2. I plunged into the LCD market just this last Christmas. I had been using a 21" CRT, but I moved over to a SAMSUNG 225BW Black 22" 5 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor. I have been thouroughly impressed. I play many games including Guild Wars, CS:Source, Battlefield 2 and 2142. There is no ghosting. The picture is great and web browsing is a joy It's native resolution is 1680x1050. So to truely appreciate the monitor you need to play your games at that res. If the monitor has to dither down to a different resolution the image will of course will not be as good as on most other L
  3. The 965 NB is one hot mother! I had originally ordered a HSF for it, but it was back ordered. I ended up ordering a Swiftech MCW30 Won't get it until Friday, but maybe I'll be able to push this beat a little farther
  4. This SILVERSTONE SST-TJ07 is one of the really nice cases that screams water cooling. It has two bays for PSU's as well. Notice the two 120mm fans in the top. This is a PERFECT place for a dual radiator. I've thought about this case as well. So many good choices
  5. I have the original CM stacker. However recently I have been thinkning of getting a new case. I have my eye on this one: The Thermaltake MozartTx It screams USE WATERCOOLING!! Love the idea of both sides opening and my six year old could probably put a swingset in there My stacker :
  6. My latest attempt 17665 I need to get a second GTX and a Quad duh
  7. I like modding cases and always look at potential for watercooling. The SILVERSTONE SST-TJ07 has the dual 120mm fans in the top oof the case. Thats where the dual radiator and fans would go. perfect. On the Gigabyte case, the dual 120's are on the rear and thats where I would mount the radiator, the case was meant for water as it already has 2 rubber sealed wholes for 1/2 inch tubing The Gigabyte would be my solution for lack of money The SilverStone would be my first choice. With the fastest card available, nVidia at the moment. Rumor has it that the nVidia 8950 GX2 will co

  9. Hi, I've looked at two case recently. The GIGABYTE GZ-FA1CA- and the if money isn't an issue my preffered choice: SILVERSTONE SST-TJ07 Both have huge potential for modding ie water cooling.
  10. I'll be getting one of those q6600's if thats really near the pricemark. 11. HI Guys Went with the DS3 because of money ATM lol BTW you guys read that the q6600 will be out near July at about $300!!! LOL Poor AMD
  12. Hello everyone, Just got done reading a few posts, apparently a long time ago several people had wondered where I had run off to.... Family had some major medical issues. Everyone is fine now, although at times it was pretty rough. Kind of killed the killer pc thing for me for a couple of years. Money was pretty tight and my heart just wasn't into it. Just now getting back into it. What prompted me to read the Pitstop again is I'm upgrading this week. It will be a slow process to start, but hey I miss it Starting off with an e6600 running on DangerDen water coolin
  13. You know that is what was said when we all moved from 16bit to 32 bit computing. The fact is that once the apps moved over to 32 bit everything was better, especially games and I'm a gamer. In all practical purposes moving to 64 bit will a bigger jump than it's predecessor. The hold up now is simply no market yet for commercial 64bit OS as software vendors haven't extensively moved apps in that direction yet, but they will. They are waiting for a higher percentage of PC platform for the 64bit to work on. It'll come, I assure you.
  14. Looking through the list of goodies with the board. Epox has several interesting features with this board. 1. Like Abit hitting the insert key during boot will soft reset the BIOS allowing boot after a bad overclock. 2. By hitting the "Esc" key you can pick which drive to boot from. <<< Cool 3. LED display for trouble shooting with a full set of explanations for codes. 4. Epox supplied 8 heat sinks to place on the moffets. 5. Active cooling for the northbridge 6. True NVIDIA Gigabit LAN 7. 8 channel audio 8. No PCI slot next to AGP. Has a nice space there. 9
  15. You are really going to enjoy it though Raymo
  16. I got my nForce3 board yesterday afternoon late. I probably won't have time until Monday to install it. I DO have something to say about the Epox packaging. They could have probably dropped the price of the board $10 to $15 if they just put the mobo in a standard box. Jeez it's well put together, lol. The manual comes in a pull lock type of bag thats real thick guage plastic, well done kit. I'm looking forward to putting it together. Side note my windowed door finally came in and now all I have to do is rewire the whole system to make it look good after the new mobo
  17. Naw I haven't had a problem with mine at allI'll keep both of them
  18. HardOCP has a jpg of an internal memo telling employees they have dropped the 4GHz cpu off the roadmap. I bet AMD as a company is popping champagne bottles this evening. Lack of a higher speed CPU pretty much gaurentees AMD as the fastest CPU available for a while as AMD raises their core on the 90nm process. That's a pretty big concession for Intel.
  19. I definately willI'm getting the Epox nFORCE3-Ultra EP-9NDA3+ I understand it's a good board with working locks, but doesn't have a lot of voltage options for the cpu, an updated BIOS is supposed to fix that issue. Just checked FedEx it should be here today... To bad I work the next 4 days.. I should have replaced the A8V earlier, it hosed one of my Raptors last night. I'll be RMA'ing it as well. sigh
  20. I'm rather confused what DX9 has to do with the drives anyway? Oh well I have a NF3 Ultra coming Friday. I also wrote an unattended install with the drivers included using service pack 2 as well. (THAT INCLUDES dx9C as well) Should be interesting to see how it works. Ed
  21. I'll jump in in a while. I'm having problems with my A8V's VIA controller it drops out occasionally and isn't detected by the BIOS, so I'm waiting on another mobo. I will be posting two systems though. The other is a SK8V and a 940 pin FX53, dual 37 gb raptors That system is waiting on a second memory ECC dimm
  22. Somebody has issues don't they LOL
  23. This is great, expensive though, but lot's of applications
  24. So far 2.44 GB (2,620,668,313 bytes) 210 files 16 folders Looking forward to it ...
