I checked in the task manager and it said it was not responding. Let me know what you want me to try next either with the OTS or something else, here is the GMER log. 10. Ok here is a link to my post in the virus forum, I decided with out waiting to go ahead and post a HiJackThis log here as well http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?showtopic=178176 Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.3 (BETA) Scan saved at 3:20:28 PM, on 21/01/2010 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16762) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\sv
  11. Ok, its been a while now that while online links resulting form a google search are redirected to a random site. I figured spyware and or malware. I updated all my scanners rebooted into safe mode scanned found a couple odds and sods but nothing dramatic. Now things have advanced to the point where I did a google search for "Rootkit Scanners" and my screen went dark and locked all access, had to reboot. The reason for the rootkit search was because I was getting an error DCom Server Process Launcher Service Terminated unexpectedly, shut in 60 seconds. I avoid the shutdown with the shu
  12. Ok I replaced the card and so far there hasn't been 1 lock up on any MMORPG I play. I guess that isolates it to the GPU, Though I am not convinced its a bad card. I am still thinking its a conflict of some kind. The card works flawless in every application save MMORPG's, we already established its not a heat issue. Well, Im good for now, at least I can work at my games, Thanks for all the help folks.
  13. No unfortunately not, this is the only system I have. I do have another video card, An ATI 9600SE, I could install and see if the issue continues, I know I will take performance hits but...
  14. Ok Stormy, I started the log, then went about starting my game, after it froze I rechecked the log after reboot and the temp ranged from 51 degrees C, to 52 Degrees C. Thats it.
  15. OK I will check that tonight, I'm at work now. I will post back what the temp was and let you know. Thanks for the Help Stormy.
  16. This current installation i"m on now is the result of doing just that Stormy, I even took it one step further and fresh installed on a spare HD I had. The only thing I can think of at this point is the amperage on my 12 volt line in my PSU is browning out when the load gets too high on the card. Im getting an amp meter from a buddy tomorrow and Im going to check the amps on the 12 volt line on the molex I have connected to the GPU, then fire up my games and see if I am feeding enough amps into the GPU. If not I may have to get a new psu.
  17. As far as I know the PS is up to it, Im using a Thermaltake Silent power 480W. Yes I have the external power supply hooked up.
  18. Oh another thing to add, I systematically removed all my utility software 1 at a time then tried my games, thinking maybe they were trying to update or something during gameplay. Found nothing games still froze after I had removed all my extra utility software.
  19. Sorry been down sick for a while, I checked the voltages and amps out the other night everything seemed fine. Just for reference, the other night while I couldn't sleep I D/L another game I have never ever played before, it was an MMORPG, and yes it froze as well.
  20. Oh yes, I actually rechecked last night to see if any other drivers have been released, all are current. 1 reason I doubt heat issues is that I turned the pc on last night to try and play Guild wars, in less that 5 minutes from the time I turned the pc on, it was froze. I wouldn't think that in 5 minutes from cold start it would heat up enough to freeze like it does. Could it be a windows conflict issue?
  21. I though that too in the beginning, but I found out later that it is all online games, specifically MMORPG's, I am wondering since my mainboard is older, could the AGP slot be choking the throughput?
  22. Nividia 7600 GT There s the link to the site for my card, It has an onboard fan, I don't understand why if its heat the graphics burn in benchmarking I did didn't show any issues.
  23. Ok I have uninstalled the GPU, installed an old ATI 9600 SE card I had and while I took a performance hit, didn't seem to be any issues. Reinstalled my 7600GT, max all graphics settings and system froze about 5 minutes into game. I still have issues with thinking this is a heat issue and a bad card despite this experiment, let me explain. IF this is a bad card, then I should have graphics issues regardless, but I can play DVDs, play games not online, even burn my system with graphics burning bencmarking via Sisoft sandra and have no issues. My reasoning stands with the heat issue
  24. I took an older HD, fresh installed windows xp pro/sp 2 with no updates, new partition, formatted. I then set the drive aside for a while. Then when this issue popped up, I used that HD as part of my Failure Analysis and troubleshooting. I completed all updates for windows, updated all drivers, installed my game, tried to play and still had the hard freeze. The Only thing I havne't done is try an older video driver, I was set to do that last night when I discovered a new driver had just come out that day, Tonight is my first chance since installing to try and see if it worked or not. I wi
  25. Still suffering here, as an update, I have uninstalled my video drivers, rebooted the system a couple times, then cancelled all the new hardware wizards and reinstalled latest drivers. Updated DX to latest version and nothing.
