  1. Thats why I didn't want to upgrade anything other than the video card. I have an AMD 3400+ that is on the 754 socket. So If I get a new motherboard, I'll have to get a new processor. Then I will want to upgrade my XMS 3200 ram to something better. As you all know it will go downhill from there, a new DVD burner with lightscribe, nice soundcard, and then the wife is yelling at you for spending so much money. I just need something to get me by for awhile.
  2. Thanks for the reply, Is the lack of support for Directx10 seen as a problem for the future on some of these AGP cards? I haven't been gaming in over a year but COD4 has resparked my attention. I just want to make sure that I get something that will last another 3 or 4 years. By that time I will have to upgrade my whole system and this one will probably get turned into a HTPC.
  3. Hey everyone, I'm looking into upgrading my current 9800pro video card. It will play COD4 but it's starting to get a little out of date. Just checking on opionions about what the best AGP card is out there. It seems like the options are becoming less and less since PCI-E became the new standard. I would prefer to stay with an ATI product so I don't have issues with drivers but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. PS. No, I don't want to upgrade my motherboard in case you were wondering.
  4. I did that and then went into ipcofig, tried releaseing and renewing. Got the error message that it was unable to connect with the DHCP and had timed out. Can only get it to work on either 10/ half or 10/full duplex. I see their is a driver update from gigabyte for the onboard LAN, guess I might try that too see if it helps. Who knows one of the window updates might have messed things up. Unless someone else has any suggestions? Thanks
  5. I cant get auto negotiate to work on my pc. The only duplex speed that works for me is 10/half. It's driving me nuts. I'm suppose to be able to get 5mb down and only getting around 1800 kbs. Don't know if thats part of my problem or not. Any Ideas?
  6. Is the Overdrive feature not available on 9800 cards with the 5.6 drivers?
  7. Alright , just broke 2200 with ease on a stock system. No overclocking on processor or video. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?i...K78AWWTDCMSSKV3 Still having problems with my catched speed wavering. After the systems been up and running for several hours the catched speed drops from 1500-1600 range to 500. Is this normal or is there a problem such as heat. Just curious?
  8. If I had ronniecoleman video card setup, I would have a really nice score.
  9. Yes, I hope its just a glitch, but on the off chance does anybody know of another web site that could test the memory to make sure that it is working properly? Don't know what I'm complaining about, it's still one heck of a jump from my 500mhz P3 that I had.
  10. Ok, This is getting wierd. Here is my new test score http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?i...K78AWWTDCMSHCV3 It's showing my catch back up to where it should be for some reason but still showing the ram as: RAM installed 512 MB Windows RAM 1024 MB I did do a complete shutdown of the system for about 30 min. and then had the system back up for about an hour before running the test again. PS. I really do appriciate everyone taking time to help. I have Tech support calling me tomarrow about software not recognizing my DVD RW, and problems with the video card getting dumped and windows reverting to 4 bit color , so anything else i can question them on will be helpful.
  11. ronniecoleman, Can you look at my test history, It appears that as of today my cached speed dropped from near 1500 to 500. I don't know what would have caused this.
  12. Yes, I was wondering that also. System should have 1 MB corsair xms 3200pc ram on it. Windows hardware is showing 1MB, but the test is showing 2 x 256 installed? ronniecoleman, The motherboard is a gigabyte GN-K8NPRO which gigabyte is not showing any support information on yet, new product I guess.
  13. Hey everyone, Just got a new computer and ran my test and the system is showing way slower that what I expected. I assumed with a AMD 64 3400 processor and a radeon 9800 pro the scores would be better especially in the video department, they seem extremely poor. Tell me what you think. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?i...9EZAWWTDCMSLJV3
