  1. I was able to lower the vcore some and it seems to have dropped some now that I've got all the fans working - 3.5ghz right now @ 59c full load. I'm still planning on getting an aftermarket cooler, but it'll be a couple weeks. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=L0UDTWLBYQGSAM69
  2. Yeah, I plan on buying a new CPU fan in the coming weeks - at 3.2 it's at 67 full load, so not too far off from the 65, and that's with my other case fans off for now. I got a good deal on the 6700 at the last minute, had planned all along to get the 6600 until then.
  3. Finally went with an intel build... after so much money spent on AMD over the years. What's the highest full load temp that I should allow on this q6700? Running Prime 95 for instance on all 4 cores? http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=1EH1TW84UQGSY3UG It's a new install, just got it up and running a couple hours ago, so I haven't done any housekeeping yet.

  5. Can't comment on the processor or give any real ideas on a motherboard, but I have the video card myself now and love it -- especially for the price. Someone with more Intelligence will stop by and be able to help more I'm sure.
  6. Well, it seems to be working on my end now. Hope yours is better too.
  7. Well, they came out... they told me that nodes 19 and 21 were experiencing issues. No estimated time on when it'll be fixed was provided. According to http://www.speakeasy.net -- the Chicago test server -- I had a download of 10,173Kbps and an upload of 96Kbps. Feels like dial-up when I'm playing games online. I'll keep you posted if they tell me anything else. Here's what my test looks like as of 2pm. My upload is soaring high now! **Please note that this is a sarcastic remark**
  8. Yeah, will do - good to know others are having the same problem. I noticed on DSLreports that there were a few others with the bad upload too - nobody has really mentioned it on their forums but it does appear to be happening to at least a few people. I'll let you know what's going on or if they can fix it when they come out here.
  9. It wouldn't happen to be Insight Broadband would it? EDIT: I bet it is... just looked at your location - I'm in Indiana too and have Insight and having the EXACT same problem. They upgraded last week and it appears some people aren't having the desired results. My upload is between 4 and 100 kbps - which is absolutely unacceptable. They're coming to "check it out" on Monday. I don't have high hopes. BTW, I've tried 3 different computers and all have the same problem.
  10. It is a recent bios - and I've been running the ram at 1T on this board for over a year... only difference is the dual core as opposed to my opteron. I'm inclined to think as Intratech did, but not really looking forward to buying other ram.
  11. Yeah, it's my old Neo 2 Platinum... haven't upgraded yet. I've tried every timing known to man ... I had the hyper x at 1t for a while and rand occt 17 minutes... then it crashed HARD ... had to remove the hyper x and put the G.Skill back in - it runs fine at tight/loose timings, but it must be 2t.
  12. Thanks guys, just wish I could run the memory at 1t.
  13. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=0XTKPWMUAMJS6SHC I'm pretty happy so far... although my memory will only run 2t. Any ideas why? It worked at 1t on my opty and my 3800+ before that.

  15. Hmm... you still have the Neo 2 Platinum? Cause I'm using IDE hard drives and have no such problem.
