  4. Hi @Bob Stafford PC Matic is the software that provides malware removal and real-time anti-malware protection. PC Magnum provides removal of select information for added privacy. When it comes to cleanup, the items cleaned by PC Matic are in three major categories: Recycle Bin. Files are not actually removed from the drive when you delete them. Instead, the files are moved to the Recycle Bin where you can retrieve them if you later decide to restore them. PC Matic empties your Recycle Bin to reclaim this disk space. Internet Cache. Internet Explorer creates temporary files that are not needed after you have finished surfing. These files can take up large amounts of space and should be removed periodically. Although you can clear the cache in Internet Explorer, PC Matic uses a more thorough method that deletes files left behind by IE. Temporary Files. Windows and applications create various temporary files that are not needed after the application exits or Windows is shut down. In many cases, however, the applications do not always clean up after themselves. PC Magnum scans for and cleans or removes: Browser Cookies (IE, Chrome, & Firefox) Browsing History (IE, Chrome, & Firefox) Browser Image Cache (IE, Chrome, & Firefox) IE Typed URLs Download History (Chrome & Firefox) Facebook History Recent Document History (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDFs, Other) Recycle Bin If we can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team at https://www.pcmatic.com/help

  12. PC Matic does not offer phone support nor will we ever call you to alert you to problems with your computer. If you are a PC Matic subscriber, running a PC Matic scan and clean will not only alert you to any issues but will fix them as well. Microsoft will also never call you to alert you to issues with your computer. If you get a call from someone representing themselves as Microsoft, just hang up as they are not being honest. Microsoft offers the following advice: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4013405/windows-protect-from-tech-support-scams See the link below for additional information on tech support scams: https://askleo.com/i_got_a_call_from_microsoft_and_allowed_them_access_to_my_computer_what_do_i_do_now/ Remember, if you receive a call from PC Matic, Microsoft, or another antivirus company, they are not legitimate and are just trying to scam you out of money.

  17. Hi @why me I see from your support help desk ticket that this issue was resolved. Is that correct or are you still having an issue?
  18. Hi @physiomech3 To resolve the issue with the PC Magnum program being unresponsive: 1) Download and install the free Revo uninstaller from the link below and use that to uninstall PC Magnum completely. If you get an error message from the program uninstaller while running Revo, just click that message closed then hit the Next button in Revo to continue with the uninstall. Use the advanced scan option. How to use the Revo Uninstaller 2) Download the settings cleaning tool. This will ensure your PC Magnum cache is cleared. Once the file is downloaded, open it to run it. You will be prompted whether you want to allow it to run, choose yes. Next, it will extract the files and open a command prompt. You will see a small grey window with a message that reads: "Are you sure you want to Delete all Internet Explorer Settings". Right below this message, click the box located beside "Delete Personal Settings", then click "Reset". Another small grey box will appear with a list of items that are to be cleaned. Once there is a green check mark beside all of the items listed, click "Close" This will prompt another command that will clear all cached items from your browser add ons followed by another window that states "Deleting History". Allow this to complete. Once it is complete, the Command window will disappear. The tool has completed. Restart your computer. <<Very Important! 3) When the computer is powered back on, download and reinstall PC Magnum. Once the program is installed, launch the application, and login to run the scan. Let us know if this does not resolve the issue.
  19. Hi @Duke PC Matic does not have a SPAM filter and does not have access to your email account. PC Matic scans only the files that reside on your computer and SuperShield protects your computer from malicious programs that may attempt to run on the computer. Thanks for the question!
  20. @armyguber What is happening here is the PC Matic ad blocker is blocking AOL email due to the extensive ads that AOL displays in their inbox. To whitelist AOL email, you will need to select either Temporarily or Permanently at the bottom of the blocking page.
  21. Hi @armyguber We have reached out via our customer support help desk to get some more information from you. Please check your email and reply to the message so we can help. (If you don't see the email in your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder).

  23. Hi @randeyc When you see ?guccounter= in a URL it is being generated by the website owner can track usage to understand how visitors are using their website. It is not malware and is generated by the website server.
  24. Hi @Jo Ann UAC settings are system wide, so it either has to be turned on or off for all programs. With PC Matic, only the program's user interface requires this prompt from Windows when it is opened. The real-time security of SuperShield is always running and scheduled scans will run without any need for user approval. The PC Matic user interface requires UAC because that is where you can make changes to scans and SuperShield that will affect the security of the computer. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our support team at https://www.pcmatic.com/help
