  1. @JimR Hello and welcome to the forums! I'm sorry, there is not a way to excluded specific files/folders from the PC Matic scan. If there is something being identified as malware that you do not want removed, you can turn off AUTO FIX, run a scan, then whitelist the specific files from the High Security section of the scan report.   6. Hi @mjottii In a future version of macOS, Apple is changing the way programs like PC Matic can load system extensions. There is a version of PC Matic in development that will be released before then that will comply with Apple's new security requirements. PC Matic will continue to work on your computer in the meantime.

Hi @KevinB To scan a flash drive, or external hard drive: 1) Plug the device into your computer. 2) Open PC Matic and click on the "Options" button. 3) Under Scan Options > Drives to Scan, place a check in the boxes for only the drives that you want scanned. 4) Click the green "Save" button and close out of the Options menu. You can now run a scan and only the checked drives will be scanned.

  12. Hi @johnnyD To create a desktop shortcut in Windows 10: Click on the Start button (Windows icon in the lower left corner). Scroll to the PC Pitstop folder and click on it to expand it. Single click and hold on the PC Matic icon, drag it to the Desktop, then release the mouse button to 'drop' the icon.   16. We have released a new version of SuperShield (3.0.26.0) that resolves the issue with the new Edge browser crashing when scanned by SuperShield. You should receive this update automatically. To check the version installed, click on the green shield icon in your taskbar, then click About SuperShield. If you're running 3.0.26.0, restarting the computer should resolve the issue. If you are running a version older than 3.0.26.0, please contact our support help desk and we can provide a manual installation link.

  22. Hi @Bob Stafford PC Matic is the software that provides malware removal and real-time anti-malware protection. PC Magnum provides removal of select information for added privacy. When it comes to cleanup, the items cleaned by PC Matic are in three major categories: Recycle Bin. Files are not actually removed from the drive when you delete them. Instead, the files are moved to the Recycle Bin where you can retrieve them if you later decide to restore them. PC Matic empties your Recycle Bin to reclaim this disk space. Internet Cache. Internet Explorer creates temporary files that are not needed after you have finished surfing. These files can take up large amounts of space and should be removed periodically. Although you can clear the cache in Internet Explorer, PC Matic uses a more thorough method that deletes files left behind by IE. Temporary Files. Windows and applications create various temporary files that are not needed after the application exits or Windows is shut down. In many cases, however, the applications do not always clean up after themselves.
